This Opportunity

LBS is seeking a full-time Air Freight Lead at our location in Kuwait. The
ideal candidate will perform all tasks associated with the safe and correct
operation of the Air Terminal as directed by management, regulations,
policies, instructions and the Performance Work Statement.

Your Impact

• Responsible for all the safe and correct operation for their assigned shift.


• Facilitate safe loading and unloading of cargo and baggage on and off government owned or contracted aircraft, surface conveyances, and commercial pallet dollies IAW AFI ‎24-‎605, Volume ‎2 and other applicable instructions.


• Coordinate employee training that are assigned to their shift.


• Monitor proper validation, selection, staging and upload aircraft loads utilizing the load plan.


• Enforce proper procedures on build-up / break-down baggage pallets, multi-pallet trains, loose cargo, and mixed pallets.


• Operate GATES / GDSS systems as required.


• Enforce safety program.


• Perform all Cargo Processing, Special Handling, and Load Planning functions to ensure compliance with AFI ‎24-‎605, Volumes ‎2 and DTR ‎4500-‎9 Parts ‎2 and ‎3, and AFMAN ‎24-‎604 and other applicable instructions.


• Ensure all Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements are properly accomplished.


• Complete terminal inventories.


• Ensure cargo is processed within six (‎6) hours of receipt or release from frustrated status.


• Schedule timely pick-up / release of cargo and mail.


• Monitor GATES reports to ensure data base integrity


• Accomplish manual procedures when systems are down


• Escort trucks, buses, personnel and other surface conveyances


• Ensure maximum aircraft utilization based upon available airlift and existing port backlogs.


• Facilitate on-time aircraft departures.


• Ensure all LBS controlled areas are clean and neat in appearance.


• Ensure all vehicles are parked per the published parking plan.


• Position, deposition, connect, disconnect to/from aircraft all ground support equipment to include ‎150 lb Halon Fire Bottles


• Perform follow-me marshaling to include blocking, chocking, wingtip/tail clearance guard duties and any other areas relating to Transient Alert functions


• Perform pushback and towing duties for all transiting aircraft


• Wash AGE equipment as scheduled.


• Store and park AGE equipment per the published parking plan


• Operate/inspect light carts positioned on aircraft parking locations


• Assist with the AMC passenger rotator missions


• Oversee the safe and correct operation of K-loaders, forklifts, buses, tugs, vans or other required vehicles, ensure daily inspection utilizing check lists and AFTO forms and ensure vehicles in need of repair or service are properly turned in to maintenance.


• Perform supplemental duties in Aircraft Services or other work centers as required by Supervisor and Management.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
* Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
* Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
* Must maintain a valid driver's license from their home country with validity for ‎12 months from on-site employment date
* Must maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for ‎12 months from on-site employment date. Passport must have a minimum of ‎6 blank pages prior to OCONUS mobilization.
* Must be CAC eligible and able to gain and maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.

Additional Required Qualifications
* Experience in Air Terminal Ground Handling Services is preferred.
