Laboratory Engineer - Civil Engineering

Job Description

FUNCTION: To provide assistance to faculty staff in all areas related to
degree program delivery including (tutoring, lab supervising, exam/assignment
marking and assessment assisting).

PRIMARY TASKS:
* Assist in teaching Civil Engineering units (Tutoring, Exams/Assignments marking, etc.).
* Supervise laboratory experiments and provide help to the students if needed.
* Assist in preparing exams, tests, assignments and invigilating examinations.
* Play an active role in the maintenance of academic standards and in the development of educational policy and curriculum areas within the discipline.
* Maintain student records and carry out administrative tasks where relevant.
* Conduct research of relevance to teaching activities; to gather analyze and present data of relevance to staff and students and to teaching activities in general.
* Comply with AU policies and procedures.
* Other duties as requested by the Head of Department.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
* Bachelor in Civil Engineering, with strong background in Concrete, Steel, and Timber Structures, Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner.
* Fluent written and spoken English Language proficiency.
* Excellent personal presentation and grooming.
* Excellent work ethic.
