Data Science Internship
About the Role
nybl is looking for our next generation of data scientists. We pride ourselves
on growing our team and are always looking for the brightest talent to join
us. You will be working on transforming data into intelligence by developing
innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions and integrating them with
cutting-edge Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. This role will be hands-on
and provide great levels of exposure to the Data Science world by utlising our
“Citizen Data Scientist” platform nubyla.
* use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problems
* source and select specific datasets which you will then manipulate in the platform to produce insight
* derive actionable intelligence from data sets using nubyla across a range of subjects
* document the process of taking raw data and how it can be turned into actionable intelligence using the nubyla platform.
* plan and record video walkthroughs demonstrating the simplicity of using the product which will be published for our end users
* following research, create whitepapers or Case Studies on your findings to be shared with the citizen data science community
* gather intelligence and provide feedback to the development team and have a real impact on how the product is shaped
* maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report results
* create clear reports that tell compelling stories about how customers or clients work with the business
* assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods
* horizon scan to stay up to date with the latest technology, techniques and methods
* stay curious and enthusiastic about using algorithms to solve problems and enthuse others to see the benefit of your work.
Requirements
We are looking for Data Science graduates holding either a Masters or PHD to
take on an imperative research project in collaboration with the nybl team.
Key skills and qualifications are:
* A solid foundation in Data Science principles, concepts and capabilities
* A Masters Degree or PHD in a leading Data Science course
* Exceptional research skills with original ideas of what can be done in the Data Science domain
* Fluency in written and spoken English in order to document and present your findings
* Knowledge of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
* Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
* A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
* Willingness to learn new technology.
* Able to work independently on researching solutions and applying findings.
