About The Role
* Coordinate and handle the daily Sports & leisure operation including activities, pool operation, gym facilities and lifeguarding.
* Manages all areas of responsibility within the Sports & Leisure department including the Gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Pool area, Activities, services and team buildings.
* Ensures all policies and procedures are followed and guest are given a friendly, courteous, informative and efficient service, as well as manage the operations ensuring that standards are maintained to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Understands the company’s objectives and standards, values and culture of the company applying them on the job daily.
* Achieves customers’ expectations and performance targets of the department.
* Ensures Security awareness and safe keeping of all valuables trusted in your care (e.g. company’s equipment).
* Ensures awareness of emergency procedures and carries out tasks in emergency situations.
* Demonstrates correct way to use exercise equipment
* Ensures the cleanliness of all areas in the gym and its equipment, including cardio-vascular area, resistance and free weights area, studio and the gym office / assessment room (free of health and safety hazards)
* Ensures that all guests/ members appointments are checked in advance and roster planned accordingly
* Provides guests with professional, efficient and friendly service
* Co-ordinates appointments and ensures the co-operation between Instructors
* Participates in any scheduled training program
* Performs other duties as requested by superiors as and when required
* Performs all duties of Fitness Instructor and Lifeguard
* Undertakes monthly feedback sessions for all team members
* Follows standard operating procedures and policies
* Adheres to the Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.
* Adheres to the Conduct on Duty and in Public Areas policy
* Adheres to the Telephone Standards.
* Make bookings and follow up on bookings for activities on the computer.
* Supervises the daily towel counter operation, ensuring each guest is assisted according to the required standard, escorted to his/hers sun lounger and all relevant check in procedures for day visitors are followed.
* Assist in developing and execution with the events department various team building activities as well as special calendar event days.
* Conducting and attending department and property meetings and filling in for lifeguards and attendants as needed.
* Draws up the monthly duty roaster including the lifeguard rotation.
* Performs other duties as requested by superiors as and when required
