About the Role
Info Arab Media FZ-LLC / Al Mashhad is seeking to hire an Output Editor to
join our existing News Team in the Headquarter located in Dubai, UAE. The
Output Editor will be responsible to determine and maintain the creative
vision and look and feel of programs aligned with the Departments' vision. And
to oversee the writing and producing of assigned news programs. The Output
Editor mentors and serves as a resource to junior members of the staff and
demonstrates strong news judgment.
Key Accountabilities
The selected candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:
* organizing and stimulating the creative process and tracks performance of assigned news team.
* Coordinating with the Head of News and other Producers and Assignment Editors on selecting timely news material.
* Preparing format/rundown for newscast, summaries, updates or assigned special event coverage.
* Writing stories for assigned newscasts.
* Participating in editorial meetings.
* Reviewing all scripts for assigned newscasts to ensure that they adhere to broadcast standards.
* Ensuring all work is in compliance with the channel Journalistic Code of Ethics.
* Obtaining legal and editorial clearances from the Head of News.
* Overseeing all quality assurances and live content material.
* Ensuring that all additional production details are completed, including graphics, chyrons, etc.
* Providing Control Room with critical information regarding the timing, content and execution of live shots while program is on-air.
* Maintaining composure in the control room.
* Pursuing breaking news and assists Assignment Desk and other producers during coverage of breaking news.
* Conducting annual performance planning (goal setting) for each team member.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in journalism or communications.
* At least 10 years' experience producing television newscasts.
* Sound editorial and creative judgment.
* Excellent Arabic and English written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
* Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment.
