Overall Purpose of The Job
Ownership & accountability for Group-wide program and campaigns that assure
V.Group compliance with, and delivery against, all current and projected
legislative, industry, and client standards and best practices, supporting
with data-led analysis of performance trends and root causes to ensure
continual improvement of our service delivery and statutory obligations, and
effective adoption of new, value-add standards as may be required.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Promoting A Strong, Pro-Active Safety Culture
Ensure the Company 's Safety Culture is promoted and maintained to the highest
possible standards, in all locations, through;
* Active engagement with all employees on HSSEQ-related issues
Participate in & provide input to HSSEQ-related meetings and inspections
Actively promote the application of all Company Control of Work processes and safe working practices
Implementing and promoting V.Group's 'Key Behaviours of Great Safety Leaders' (accompanying this JD)
Analysis & Reporting of Performance Data
* Provide insight to analysis of relevant HSSEQ performance data
Provide support for programs to address or support performances
Identification of performance trends and proposals of corrective plans & programs
Incidents & Emergencies
* Support BU Cluster emergency response activities in actual and simulated emergency scenarios
Provide HSSEQ-focused support during investigation of Accidents, Incidents & HiPo Near Misses, where required
Support timely publication of Bulletins and Alerts
Continual Improvement
* Identify opportunities for development of HSSEQ systems and programs
Deliver initiatives for continual improvement of engagement in HSSEQ activities
Identify and support technological innovation of HSSEQ programs and systems
Compliance & Certification
Support BU Cluster HSSEQ Manager to ensure;
* Customer relations and satisfaction are continually maintained to ensure flawless service delivery
timely completion of all required audits and inspections, and the retention of associated certification/licenses
relevant standards, procedures and best practices are correctly implemented or adopted
minimal potential legislative, operational, and administrative non-conformity
the
V.MS meets the requirements of all parties and any proposed amendments to
internal documents are effectively passed to relevant Group function heads
HSSEQ Support
* Ensuring sufficient, timely, and efficient administrative support to the BU Cluster HSSEQ team in delivery functional duties and expectations
Understudy BU Cluster HSSEQ Manager to provide resilience int eh function, and to develop personal skills and experience for future growth
Actively partake in shore- and vessel-based safety meetings to encourage constructive discussion and drive management engagement
Development & Evolution
* Identify opportunities for growth & development of the HSSEQ function, to ensure capabilities and means of delivery are continually improved
o management & maintenance of ShipSure process, and ShipSure BI analytics and
insight
o providing function-specific input to internal development projects
o development and implementation of safety initiatives
Required Experience
ESSENTIAL:
* Recognised qualification in relevant field
Strong, clear communication and administrative skills, especially in regard to maintenance of HSE standards
Experience of interfacing with clients and meeting their demands in relation to implementation and management of HSSEQ-specific aspects
Significant experience in engaging and collaborating with multinational / multicultural teams
DESIRABLE:
* Recognised Incident Investigator qualification
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 18001 Standards
Working knowledge of maritime HSE standards & legislation beneficial
Working knowledge of ISM and ISPS codes, other standards (MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISO, OHSAS, etc.) & statutory regulations relating to vessel operations
Strong data analytical skills
