Responsible for the clearing of goods through Customs, coming into Jeddah
either by air, sea or dry port and the proper disposition of cleared items
from the airport to the Receiving Section into user department.
1. Manages and develops procedures and techniques to be followed in the Cargo
and Receiving Section.
2. Schedules and closely supervises the work of all personnel in the Section.
3. Prepares all official correspondences to local authorities to be approved
by the Administrator.
4. Directs the processing of clearance of freight goods upon arrival.
5. Trains subordinates in performing the collection and assembling of all
official documents required to be logged with Customs officials against
clearance.
6. Establishes contacts and communications with Saudia/Customs and is
responsible for resolving any problems that may arise with either Airlines or
Customs relating to Cargo functions.
7. Coordinates inbound/outbound shipments with concerned departments and
maintains liaison relative to the clearing of items to assure proper service
and correction of problems, if any.
8. Ascertains that receipt of food and medical supplies requiring special
handling from Cargo shipments is properly handled by Cargo representatives.
9. Evaluates performance of subordinates and makes recommendations for
promotions and disciplinary actions. Counsels employees and provides training
and assistance in employee development.
10. Implements office automation such as full computerization of the weekly
perishable reports including easy verification through airway bill number,
P.O. No. and the estimated arrival of shipments.
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospital
Administration, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline is
required.
Three (3) years of related experience including two (2) years in a supervisory
capacity with Master's Degree or five (5) years of related experience with
Bachelor's Degree required.
