About the Opportunity:
At Jacobs, we push the limits of what's possible to make the world smarter and
more connected. We are playing a key role on one of the most iconic giga
projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arguably one of the largest projects
in the world.
Working within the Information & Technology (IT) division, Jacobs is looking
for a Head of Construction Logistics and Systems (CL&S). The core
responsibilities of the Head of CL&S are:
* Managing the activities of a large work unit (‎10-‎20 employees) dedicated to providing support related to systems supporting the Construction & Logistics (C&L) functions across the program
* Works with program C&L business functions to identify and recommend applications and delivery systems that will allow the program to meet its current and projected business objectives and goals
* Implement and manage the several Platforms and applications that are aligned with the C&L Business function requirements within the AEC industry (IOT, Fleet Management, Lidar, AI, Labor productivity etc.)
* Manages the team of technical specialists, and administrators that would support and administer these environments
* Identify ways to improve efficiency within the C&L function thru Automation/scripting and provide leadership in developing such automation
* Evaluates systems requirements across the program for the C&L function; identifies and recommends consolidation, modifications, upgrades, and new systems that will effectively meet the needs of program C&L staff while providing efficiencies and cost-effective solutions for program
* Implements and supports the end to end use of several technologies that applies to the C&L arena such as wearable devices, IOT, Drones
* Defines scope of work, schedule, standards, and procedures for installing, testing, implementing, using and maintaining third-party and internal products and services. Establishes priorities, budget estimates and staffing requirements for third-party projects as well as internal design or development projects
* Supervises the overall management and implementation of third-party C&L products and services. Tracks the use of third-party products and services and maintains relationships with vendors and contractors. Identifies and works with vendors and contractors to resolve questions, issues, and problems
* Monitors and oversees successful implementation and installation of C&L applications throughout the project
* Tracks developments of new technologies, hardware, applications, and automation strategies to support C&L, identifying those that have the potential to reduce costs, consolidate applications, improve productivity, or expand the range of program services
Here 's What You'll Need:
* Excellent knowledge of the several Application platforms used in the AEC industry as related to Construction & Logistics such as not limited to VAULT, Drone technologies, IOT, Fleet Management, AI based tools, Lidar Technologies, Labor productivity tools etc.
* ‎15+ years progressive experience working with engineering-related software and/or engineering IT technologies, including ‎10+ years in a leadership role.
* Degree educated
* Specific industry knowledge within the engineering and construction sector
* Strong knowledge of Business Processes that enables the engineering and construction industry specifically within C&L
* A thorough understanding of current and newly developing software applications and technologies that is used in the C&L Function is required
* Working knowledge of software licensing models and requirements
* Strong technical understanding of the infrastructure required for hosted systems such as servers, advanced 2D/3D hardware, networks, SAAS and ancillary systems
* Strong Knowledge in the end-to-end implementation, operations and support of Safety related wearable technologies
* Managing vendors and vendor SLAs
