Job Summary
Monitor the Operation parameters of the system and coordinate with the other
Operators in regard to all related activities that affect operation.
Responsibilities
* Comply with safety rules and regulations. Be familiar with the fire equipments in his area.
* Follow the instructions of the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Supervisor.
* Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor and with other Operators in regard to all activities that affect them.
* Monitor all parameters of the unit and enter periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book.
* Perform all units' isolations for equipment to be out for maintenance as per the Permit To Work. Normalize the equipment after cancellation when instructed to do so.
* Be alert and take quick actions to overcome sudden changes in operating status. Understand the logic of the operation and understand and follow control logic.
* Inspect the unit and auxiliaries during the shift to make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits. Report abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor.
* Assist the Shift Charge Engineer or the Shift Supervisor in the performance of periodic protection tests. Perform equipment change over according to preset schedules.
* Coordinate with Shift supervisor for isolating and lining up the equipments and system before and after maintenance. Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment.
* Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators.
* Follow standard procedures.
* Use proper PPEs and implement prescribed risk controls.
* Report deviations in Quality, Health and safety management system.
* Report emergencies and near misses.
* Ensure proper waste disposal measures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Preferred Bachelor of Engineering.
Minimum Experience Minimum 5 years in the RO Desalination plant.
