Oversees all activities involving the filing and retrieving of medical
records.
1. Receives department request for medical record file information.
2. Assigns clerical staff to fulfill requests. Prepares work schedules.
3. Oversees filing activities and ensures that the section has manpower
properly assigned.
4. Maintains records and provides statistics on all section activities,
including requests, retrieval and delivery.
5. Resolves problems related to delays in retrieving and delivering records
and patient complaints with tact and diplomacy.
6. Performs all related functions and standards of records storage for all
patients' records.
7. Provides all related functions of customer-services across various
sections.
8. Performs all related functions of records maintenance and quality to keep
records content organized and accurate.
9. Performs all activities and functions for chart completion process based
on JCIA standards.
10. Recommends and implements needed changes and improvements.
11. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
12. Participates in self and others' education, training and development as
applicable.
Bachelor's or Associate Degree/Diploma in Medical Records Management or other
Medical Records related discipline is required.
One (1) year of related experience with Bachelor's degree, or three (3) years
with Associate Degree/Diploma is required.
