Job Title : Teacher Assistant for Elementary
Reports to : Homeroom Teacher
Key Responsibilities
* Follow whole school policies.
* Report to the classroom at 7 am to prepare the classroom and meet with the teacher.
* Work with groups or individual children as directed by the Class Teacher.
* Help the younger children to be independent when going to the bathroom, reinforcing cleanliness and healthy habits.
* Assist in keeping records of work covered with the children, as and when requested.
* Listen to children's needs.
* For those with Arabic language they are to assist the non-Arabic speaking teacher with translations.
* Prepare daily Homework, Notebooks and worksheets for both English and Arabic.
* Be familiar and up-to-date with the curriculum.
* Cover for absent teachers if no alternative possible.
* Check the students 'lunch boxes to ensure they are bringing healthy food.
* Assist the Arabic teacher during Arabic lessons, if requested by the Arabic teacher.
* Assist the PE teacher during PE lessons, if requested by the PE teacher.
* Display children's work in classrooms, on the corridors and elsewhere as requested by the Class Teachers.
* Assist with field trips.
* Carry out break time duties and others as timetabled.
* Attend school functions such as concerts, open days and school fairs.
* Assist in ensuring classrooms are conducive learning environments.
* Ensure that the resource cupboards and activity areas are kept tidy, using the daily non-contact period, if necessary.
* Work with the lead teacher to monitor the class schedule.
* Assist teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment.
* Revise lesson material with students individually or in small groups.
Candidate Profile:
* Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field.
* Bilingual, Fluent in English and Arabic
* Preferably having previous relevant school experience.
* Flexible and hard working.
* Computer literate and showing initiative to develop professionally.
* English native speakers preferable
