General Practitioner - Dental

Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards

Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital
Medical Staff
Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines.

Diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to department and responsible to
run his/her own clinic.

‎3

Responsible to provide the highest quality of service to the patients under
his/her care within
the resources provided by the program

‎4

Examines, diagnoses and treats diseases, abnormalities, injuries and
dysfunctional disorders of
the oral cavity and its associated structures

‎5

Examines patients and interpret radiographs and diagnostic tests to determine
type and extent
of dental diseases and disabilities or dysfunctions

‎6

Evaluates findings and prescribe type, extent, and order of treatment, refer
non dental cases to
the appropriate concerned medical specialty

‎7

Performs routine preventive, periodontal, oral surgery, endodontic, and
prosthodontic
treatment and provide the necessary consultation services

‎8

Determines requirements for material, equipment, facilities, and personnel to
accomplish the
mission of The Dental Unit.

Instructs dental physicians and the technicians in professional and
administrative functions of
dental service

‎10

Determines and advise on the quality and quantities of resource, supplies
requirements for dental clinics and laboratories an maintain appropriate
patients charts and updated records for
continuity of care

‎11

Participates in teaching programs in the Department and its sections, regular
seminars, promotes clinical investigative work.

‎12

Maintains the highest professional standard of documentation in line with
policies and
procedures and internationally accepted standards.

‎13

Keeps current with new procedures and techniques in the field of his/her
specialty.

‎14

Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of
his/her knowledge,
skills and abilities.

Participates in committee membership, if assigned

Maintains strictest confidentiality

Accepts all other additional assignments found necessary by the Head of
Department

Qualifications, Competences and Skills

Education

Bachelor Degree in Dental Medicine

Experience

Minimum of ‎5 years' experience aRer Bachelor

Licensure

Valid Kuwait License
