Role Description of Data Governance Project Manager (PM-DG):
The Data Governance Project Manager (PM-DG) is a critical role within the Data
Governance and Management (DGM) Team, responsible for orchestrating the
seamless implementation of Data Governance programs for our client on a global
scale. As the Data Governance Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in
overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of data governance
projects within our organisation. Your primary focus will be on establishing
and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices to
ensure the efficient management, security, and compliance of our data assets.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, data stewards, data owners,
and IT professionals to drive data governance initiatives from inception to
completion.
Job Details:
Job Title: Data Governance Project Manager (PM-DG)
Work Location: Remote
Employment Type: Outsourced, 12 months (with possibility of extension)
Salary: Competitive, open to discussion
Preferred Notice Period: 30 days or less
Working Hours: Timings will be flexibly considered to accommodate varying time
zones, while adhering to our client's stipulated work-hour policy: 45 hours
per week and 9 hours per day (8 am to 6 pm – flexible timings, with a 1-hour
break), Sunday to Thursday
Important note: This position is open to international and remote candidates
Key Requirements:
5+ years of experience in the same field
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related
field
Proven experience as a Project Manager with a focus on data protection
projects and automation tools
Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR,
PDPL)
Familiarity with data protection technologies and automation tools (e.g., GRC,
Consent Management, Cookie Compliance, data loss prevention, etc.)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively
with diverse teams
Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2) are preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Data Governance: Develop and implement data governance strategies,
frameworks, and roadmaps in alignment with the organisation's overall data
management strategy
Project Planning: Lead the planning phase of data governance projects,
including scoping, resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline development
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across
various departments to understand their data governance requirements and
incorporate them into project plans
Policy Management: Create and maintain data governance policies, standards,
and procedures to ensure data quality, data privacy, and compliance with
relevant regulations
Data Asset Documentation: Oversee the identification, classification, and
documentation of critical data assets, ensuring a comprehensive and accurate
data inventory
Data Stewardship Oversight: Establish data stewardship programs and coordinate
with data stewards to ensure data ownership, accountability, and resolution of
data-related issues
