Accessories Designer - Brief JD
Accessories designers create accessories -- including handbags, jewelry and
shoes -- to accompany clothes and outerwear.
Accessories designers work in a variety of settings, including clothing
manufacturers, department stores and online retailers.
Designers assess current trends and predict what will be in style in the
upcoming seasons. They use trend reports to decide on colors, fabrics and
shapes for their accessories.
They might create patterns, sew samples and participate in each stage of
design.

Designers also might participate in the marketing of their products and help
organize fashion shows, cater to specific clientele or work with advertisers.
Requirements:
BA degree in Fashion design, fashion merchandising or accessory design
preferable
Fashion and Design courses
Graphic design courses
* Portfolio required to showcase their best work
Key Skills
Creativity; attention to detail; strong communication and decision-making
skills; familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) and graphics imaging
software; ability to work long hours to meet strict deadlines
