About the Role:
Ensures the timely delivery of import and export containers utilising
preferred or line-approved routings while providing the highest level
of customer satisfaction. Takes the initiative to improve inland
operation processes and implement methods to drive intermodal in
positioning costs down.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensures that all store door import/export requirements are maintained to ensure the timely departure of import/export cargo as per service delivery requirements.
* Reports daily store door movements, service failure issues and other challenges to supervisor.
* Improves inland operations processes.
* Monitors and resolves problems to ensure movement of idle containers.
* Tracks and reports potential demurrage.
* Coordinates with trucker, line and terminal operations to ensure movement of containers as planned.
* Maintains data integrity through accurate inputs/updates to all related systems.
* Implements methods and measures to drive intermodal, positioning and storage costs down.
* Recovers equipment, maintenance and repair costs.

Skills:
* Preferably the candidate holds education in the field of logistics
* Demonstrated a deep understanding of and experience in the logistics industry
* 1-2 years of experience in the shipping industry (trucking industry experience is a bonus)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills both in English and local language
* Must possess time management skills to manage high volume in a fast-paced environment
* Personality: Self-starter, problem solver, Can-do-attitude, solution oriented, outstanding at process optimization, Results driven, Detail oriented, Team player
