Business Development Advisor - Gas Growth

Job Profile Summary
The Gas Growth team are here to help advance low carbon energy solutions by
developing new gas opportunities which can help the world transition from
higher carbon energy sources such as coal and oil.

The Gas Growth team works with other teams to develop optimal solutions to
reduce emissions from new gas projects. It also works closely with the
renewables businesses, integrated gas and power, and the wider bp group to
help develop integrated clean energy solutions.

The Gas Growth team is responsible for leading the optimization of bp 's
natural gas portfolio, including global gas business development.
Accountabilities of the team include:
* Developing commercial solutions and delivering commercial agreements to monetise upstream gas and ensuring regulatory engagement.
* Optimising bp's gas portfolio including screening, origination and high-grading of new gas value chain opportunities.
* Structuring and managing contractual flexibility, enhancing and protecting value in bp gas portfolio.
* Continuously challenging existing business models and seeking innovative ways to access and monetize advantaged gas.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including hosts governments, NOCs, and competitors.
* Ensuring integration of equity gas growth options and Low Carbon Energy options.

Join our team as a Business Development Advisor

As a Business Development Advisor in the New Gas Opportunities team, the
successful candidate will be a key member of the New Opportunities team within
the Gas Growth organisation, with a particular focus on Egypt.

The role will be based in Cairo and will support the Business Development and
Negotiations Manager in broad range of access and development commercial
negotiations and in addition, help develop and shape the gas opportunity
hopper and provide gas business development expertise for other Gas Growth
regional teams.

In this role, You will:
* Manage gas origination and deal delivery - identify, screen and capture new gas opportunities working closely with Finance, and rest of the business.
* Provide project specific business development expertise to business teams to help evaluate, structure and develop commercial solutions to monetise or enhance the value of gas.
* Continuously challenge existing business models and seek innovative ways to access and monetize advantaged gas.
* Create negotiation strategy and participate in negotiations with third party and government counterparties.
* Develop boundaries for deal terms and secure required approvals from internal authorities in advance of negotiations.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including government and competitors in the region.
* Support gas strategy and hopper reviews with senior management to prioritise the option set and focus resource.

What you will need to be successful:
* Relevant finance or technical degree; or evidence of equivalent experience.
* Fluency in English and Arabic.
* Egyptian nationality is required.
* ‎5+ years Commercial or Business Development experience in creating or managing gas value chains.
* Ability to think strategically and integrate with value, risk and uncertainty.
* A team player with excellent influencing and collaboration skills that energise people and deliver new insights.
* A good understanding of the investment assurance and approval process and track record of delivery.
* The ability to deliver with attention to detail and to work on multiple projects in parallel.
* The ability to manage and distil large and complex data sets into simple messages.
* Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate confidently externally and with senior managers.
