Wabtec Egypt Services Technical Advisor ECP Job Description Summary The Wabtec
Egypt Services Early Career Program (ECP) is a training program for recent
graduates that are in early stages of their career. The program consists of
regimented training elements over ‎12-month period with the successful
completion leading to a long-term position in the area of managing a team of
technicians in a locomotive maintenance workshop. The training will provide
the individual essentials for working in a professional environment while
building the skill set necessary for operations support at locomotive
maintenance and repair facility for Wabtec diesel-electric locomotives under
service contract with Egyptian National Railway (ENR). Training will be a
combination of on-the-job (OJT) training, online training, and
classroom/office instructor lead training. Training to be integrated into work
schedule and is expected to be done in conjunction with regular work duties
and assignments. Objectives Through the course of the ‎1 year program students
will be undergo training and be expected to learn and apply the following:
Administrative and Safety Setting Goals and Objectives - setting priorities
and achieving objectives within the prescribed time. Following and promoting
safety standards, safe working behaviors and emergency response procedures
Follow and implement the required environmental, health and safety standards
within the workforce and throughout the facility. Lean principles and
application Lean and 5S and 6Sigma terminology Lean tools and applications (as
related to locomotive services) Learning and application of Lean manufacturing
and 5S methods (as related to locomotive services) Locomotive Technical
Mechanical functions (engine, cooling, structural, bogies, ventilation,
compressed air, brakes, and more) Electrical functions (electrical generation,
propulsion, low voltage/battery system, reading schematics, fault
logs/downloads, and more) Locomotive maintenance fundamentals and repair
procedures Operational Processes and eServices Daily operations support
processes and functions Documentation of maintenance and repair activities
including ensuring time and materials properly accounted for (through web
based online maintenance management system). Setting expectations with
workforce and achieving daily goals and tasks Routinely being challenged for
meeting daily quota for repair and preparation of locomotives Following and
improving upon services operation procedures Provide technical support through
coaching/advising and hands on training to technicians for the maintenance,
repair, and test of locomotives. Generate routine customer reports summarizing
repair and maintenance activities completed on contract locomotives. Inventory
checks/parts look up, follow materials sign out, return, etc. Project based
assignments: ‎1) technical/reliability project ‎2) Lean/5S implementation
project ‎3) technical translation project (English to Arabic) Throughout
program, individual will be evaluated to set goals and objectives, with ending
evaluation to be suitable for operating a shift of locomotive maintenance
technicians. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an
accredited university or college. • Demonstrated leadership experience • Must
be able to work in multiple locations within Cairo (as part of training
program) • Must be able to read/write/speak fluently both English and Arabic •
Willingness and ability to work weekends, evenings, or nights as assigned. •
Willingness and ability to work in a shop environment with significant time on
the shop floor or on a locomotive. • PC proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel,
Power point, Access, Outlook email • Capable of occasionally lifting
parts/equipment up to 35kg. Eligibility Requirements: Must have unrestricted
access to work in Egypt Desired Qualifications: • Heavy equipment and similar
industry experience preferred • Experience in project management • General
knowledge of diesel-electric locomotive preferred • Demonstrated networking
ability and influencing skills • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple
priorities and deliver to commitments on time • Strong oral and written
communication skills, able to interface at various organizational levels. •
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills • Commitment to customer
satisfaction • Sound technical expertise and analytical skills. Lean Six Sigma
training a plus. Location: Egyptian National Railways locomotive service
facilities within Cairo Schedule: ‎40 hours per week, occasional overtime may
be required. Could involve night shift and/or weekend coverage. Quality
Technical Advisor Trainee Role Summary: This role will develop a quality
management system, ensures fleet performance KPI's are measured and reported
consistently. Work closely with Contract Performance Manager and Reliability
Engineers to improve key locomotive performance KPI's. Works closely with the
other TA's, material team and Service Leader to ensure all locomotives that
depart maintenance shops are best prepared to complete ‎100% successful
journeys. Work with integrity and uphold Wabtec Beliefs Essential Functions: •
Reporting directly to the Contract Performance Manager • Responsible for
driving fleet performance management KPI's, • reporting data and metrics to
fleet program manager. You will • work with Wabtec local and global technical
Teams on recognizing, tracing, and tackling availability and reliability
performance issues to ensure Egypt fleets are performing up to and beyond
customer's SLA. Basic Qualifications: • Recently graduated focusing on
Computer Science, Mechanical or Electrical engineering discipline with high
level of computer data analysis and presentation skills. • Knows at least one
programing language to an intermediate level. • Excellent command of MS Excel
and Power Point is essential, Power BI will be an advantage. • Proactive,
self-starter and excellent communications skills • Ability to prioritize and
maintain organization in day to day activities • Ability to follow process,
policies and practices to achieve consistency and compliance • Critical
thinking and problem-solving skills • Ability to communicate well with senior
level team members • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic
