Job Purpose
Reports to the Head of Change
To manage local medium to high complex change projects and acts as an
implementation manager.
Ensure that the projects are delivered on time, within budget, quality and in
compliance with AWBE projects' framework.
Main accountabilities and approximate time split
Accountability: PROJECT DEFINITION AND PLANNING
Time Split: ‎30% Outputs:



  • Evaluate business need for change and create or assist in creation of business case.

  • Define, scope and plan the project and agree structure and deliverables.

  • Support on business analysis activities ensuring all business requirements are well defined and captured

  • Obtain sign-off on the business case from Project Sponsor as appropriate.

  • Prepare and agree detailed project/sub project responsibilities.


  • Agree resource requirements with group/Local team (Business, IT …etc)
    Accountability: PROJECT MANAGEMENT
    Time Split: ‎50% Outputs:




  • Responsible for Project Management initiatives, managing numbers of staff (often from the BAU line who are often seconded part-time to the project).



  • Required to deliver projects within deadlines and therefore may be required to work unsociable hours during project planning and implementation.

  • Required to make presentations to senior audiences during Project Definition Workshops, project steerCo, project update

  • Undertake implementation initiatives and sub-project planning for larger or AWB group projects.

  • Manage compliance with AWBE project practices and framework.

  • Prepare and agree detailed project plans to meet project objectives on time and within budget.

  • Co-ordinate, review and report project progress against plan escalating issues when appropriate.

  • Manage the relation with different vendors involved in the project.

  • Track the projects' financial expenditures vs the approved budget.

  • Follow agreed controls for resource, schedule and quality.

  • Chair team and management meetings as appropriate.

  • Demonstrate effective stakeholder management including Executive and Senior stakeholders

  • Identify areas of risk, concern, change, and issue management procedures, making recommendations as appropriate.

  • Ensure business benefits are owned and delivered.

  • Manage the hand-over of project deliverables and completion of the project.

  • Manage and lead project team including Executive and Senior stakeholders

  • Set work scope and targets for the project work-streams and monitor, control and support project team members' performance.

  • Identify any training needed to support project implementation, planning delivery of training within project timescales.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to project staff to ensure high standards of deliverables. Encouraging contribution and feedback from the team.

  • Effectively manage conflicts within the project's team members

  • Manage and control the change resistance and embed the change management culture and benefits.
