Job Purpose:
Responsible for reviewing data to identify key insights into a business's
customers and ways the data can be used to solve problems.
Job Responsibilities:
* Build clean, validated, and reliable data reports and visualizations for our most important metrics and dashboards - this will prevent the need to validate data each time we build a report, and will significantly reduce confusion and fragmentation of analysis exercises.
* Offer insightful interpretations of our many data inputs that the product team will not always have time to arrive at (e.g., useful correlations and attributions, blind spots, etc.)
* Push for optimizing the performance of some queries which are currently very slow, or find alternative solutions to arrive at the same answers; this needs dedicated focus on streamlining how we pull the data and on whether the data sources need to be modified
* Help in building complex marketing attribution models and provide insights contributing to the overall effectiveness of marketing and growth teams
* Build and analyze sales insights that accurately measure the overall performance of our sales processes
* Offer a standardized and unified definition/calculation of each of our team-specific metrics and KPIs. E.g., a definition of "active users" for each product, a standard definition of an Enterprise acquisition, etc.
Actively help in building sophisticated financial models for some projects
that have a high MRR impact, multiple inputs and outputs, and continuous
future iterations (e.g. pricing)

Job Requirements:
* 2-3 years of relevant experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent discipline
* Business Intelligence (BI) or Data Engineering (DE) background, with a strong technical and business sense or experience catering to business-facing teams
* Experience with managing databases, data pipelines, and designing backend information systems, with the goal of unifying value & metric definitions
* Experience creating and fixing business performance metrics
* Basic modeling capabilities (e.g. for economic models and business cases)
* Able to independently discuss relevant details with technical teams, and utilize development processes to execute on their goals
* [Alternative Preference] Marketing/Product/Business background, with experience in quantitative goal-setting for business teams, and a working knowledge of data querying and visualization software
* Advanced business reporting skill set (SQL querying, relationship design, & data modeling)
* Advanced experience with data visualization software [Looker]
* Basic experience with data warehouses [Redshift]
* Basic experience with ETL tools [Fivetran]
