Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and
operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational
excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. In-
depth understanding of how work integrates with other teams and contributes to
the area. As a senior statutory accountant for Spain you will be responsible
to preparer the Statutory accounting, planning and audit with all related
internal (R2R, AP, Treasury) and external (Auditors, TAX) stakeholders for
several entities.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Manage statutory reporting of 1 to 4 GE Vernova legal entities
* Set up, reconcile and maintain local Spanish GAAP with USGAAP to local GAAP adjustments
* Responsible to ensure all statutory regulatory filings are completed timely, efficiently and in compliance with Spain regulatory requirements.
* Strong support to LM Business as Primary point-of-contact for queries relating to the local regulatory timelines, process steps, status updates in terms of statutory preparation and audit
* Support changes in legal organization structure changes including Mergers, Acquisitions and Dispositions and various accounting and finance projects related to system migration and process simplification
* Responsible for general accounting and policy application & process administration for all cycles including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, intercompany, etc
* Understand and interpret applicable Spanish GAAP, Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive financial process/accounting services.
* Developing in-depth knowledge of a discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy.

Required Qualifications
* University degree in accounting, or finance.
* Senior-level experience in accounting, including in operational analytics accounting environment.
* Spain statutory experience
* Strong analytical, and the ability to use good judgment.
* Organizational skills.
* Positive attitude and leadership.
* At ease with computer tools, software.
* Bilingual (English and Spanish).
