Job Description

Role purpose:
The projects & programmes team within Vodafone Business Technology Solutions
deliver services to our Enterprise customers.

The PMO will be aligned directly to a large complex customer facing
project/programme or aligned to the central delivery. They will be responsible
for peering directly with their counterpart within the organisation, operating
across an entire portfolio or business/function area where multiple programmes
and projects are being delivered. The PMO role is to enhance project/programme
deliveries through the application and development of the delivery process,
project/programme controls and governance, project consultation, system
automation and the monitoring of PMO established KPIs.
The PMO will also be responsible to ensure that effective Governance is in
place across the Programme team and will be responsible for escalating key
risks, issues or gaps in governance and contributing to the Delivery
Continuous Improvement initiative to aid with the assisting and identify and

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
* Quality Management Methodology and Governance
Ensure the effective running of the delivery methodology and governance regime
for delivery projects/programmes within a function, business area or
portfolio. This includes enhancements and adherence to the formal gating
process.
Identify trends across various aspects of delivery and recommend solutions to
enhance efficiency within the function.
Develop and implement a quality and assurance strategy.
* Planning and Resource Management
Work closely with practice stakeholders to ensure adequate resource coverage
within the Programme/Portfolio or function to support the delivery plan.
Identify planning issues/trends whilst recommending and implementing solutions
to ensure programme/portfolio remains on track.
* Leadership and Stakeholders
Ensure the stakeholder map and communications plan is current, and that timely
and accurate information is distributed accordingly.
* Risk Management
Ensure all project risks that have wider implications are escalated and dealt
with at the appropriate level, and that risks with strategic implications are
escalated to the corporate risk management process.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
* Experience in a similar role within the Telco or IT industry desirable.
* Highly organised with an acute attention to detail.
* Experience working in a customer-facing environment, in an influential position. Ability to deputise for Programme/Portfolio Manager when required and build strong relationships with the wider PMO team.
* Established a governance structure for a large Programme/Portfolio and developed or enhanced Methodology. Enhancing PMO policy and procedures.
* A problem solver, with the ability to identify root causes, make decisions and implement.

* Exceptional organisational and communication skills, along with the personal tenacity and the ability to drive through to conclusion in a dynamic and challenging environment.
* Strong organisational skills and time management.
* Strong cross-functional working capabilities.
* Excellent reporting and analytical skills.
