Description:
Responsible for the vehicles owned by the Company
Develop the fleet administration standards
Develop vehicle operating policies
Prepare annual budgets and periodic reports on operating costs
Purchase or lease of vehicles and equipment
Control over maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of vehicles
Direct fleet-related risk management training, such as safety and accident
prevention programs
Create driver's health and safety manual


* Resposniblities:

Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
* Plan, organize and direct functions and activities related to the procurement, servicing, operation, maintenance and repair of Company vehicles.
Establish and maintain priorities and time lines
Confer with various Company departments concerning vehicle needs and issues
Assure proper and timely resolution of related problems and conflicts
Direct garage activities to assure Company vehicles are maintained in safe and
proper operating condition.
Monitor, evaluate and determine priority of vehicle maintenance, servicing and
repair projects
Review the work of mechanics and other maintenance personnel to assure
compliance with established standards, guidelines and procedures
Direct off-site maintenance, repair and recovery functions for roadside
vehicle malfunctions.
Plan, organize and direct the procurement of Company vehicles
Prepare vehicle specifications according to Company need
Research and evaluate new vehicles
Coordinate the purchasing and assure optimal pricing and quality of vehicles
for the Company
Participate in related negotiation and quotation activities; oversee the
selling or disposal of used Company vehicles.
Coordinate and direct the operation of the Company fleet tracking and rental
system including automated record-keeping and billing functions
Oversee and assure proper input of related data including cost per vehicle and
invoice information
Assist with the processing of insurance claims involving Company vehicles.
Monitor and evaluate Company vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair
functions to identify needs and determine financial effectiveness and
operational efficiency
Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and
programs to enhance financial effectiveness and operational efficiency of
assigned functions.
Provide consultation to Company personnel and others concerning vehicle
maintenance, repair and procurement operations, projects and activities;
respond to inquiries, resolve issues and conflicts and provide detailed and
technical information regarding related laws, codes, regulations, policies,
and procedures.
Direct and participate in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of
narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to vehicles,
maintenance, repairs, projects, mileage, depreciation, financial activity and
assigned duties.
Develop and prepare the annual preliminary budget for vehicle maintenance,
repair, operation, servicing and procurement functions; analyze and review
budgetary and financial data; control and authorize expenditures in accordance
with established limitations.
Communicate with administrators, personnel and outside organizations to
coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange
information.
Drive a vehicle to conduct work as assigned.
Attend and conduct a variety of meetings.
Required Experience:
* Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Mechanical Engineering/Automotive, Technical automotive education or related field. (Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
* In addition, ten years of increasingly responsible journey-level experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel-fueled vehicles including work with procurement functions and five years of which must be in a supervisory position.
* A valid driver's license is required at the time of application.
