Job Purpose:

KAUST are recruiting for a Financial Operations Manager to join their Finance
Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing
management support to the Financial Controller in all aspects of Accounts
Receivable, Accounts Payable and Treasury to ensure the efficiency, accuracy
and integrity of University Financial Operations.

As the Financial Operations Manager, you will oversee purchase invoice
processing and payments, treasury and cash management, revenue collections,
disbursements and credit control.

Major Accountabilities:

You will:

• 
  

  Manage and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop and monitor team KPIs to measure performance, maintain the required target and provide updates to leadership.

  
  


• 
  

  Implement the necessary action plans for performance improvements as suggested by data and insights developed from reviewing reports.

  
  


• 
  

  Prioritize work areas by engaging in daily tasks, monitor the workload of the team, and provide guidance including annual employee performance appraisals, and ongoing training and development of staff.

  
  


• 
  

  Mentor and coach the team toward obtaining professional certifications.

  
  


• 
  

  Resolve operational issues and seek efficiencies in working practices across all relevant areas. This will include defining strategy for automating solutions and management of the integration of the Finance system with other systems where required.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop and provide management reports such as trend analysis, revenue, receivables, aged analysis and payables.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure all reconciliations are complete within set deadlines and outstanding discrepancies are resolved.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage and guide the cash collection team to ensure overdue receivables are collected, and the necessary actions for defaulters.

  
  


• 
  

  Build strong relationships with University stakeholders internally and externally including faculty, senior managers, banks, and respective government agencies.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide the primary relationship contact points for University banking institutions.

  
  


• 
  

  Advise and propose to the Senior Leadership Team on the appropriateness and alternatives of investment management strategies.

  
  


• 
  

  Optimize cash management alternatives and cash forecasting strategies.

  
  


• 
  

  Set and achieve operational goals surrounding efficiency and security of payment processes.

  
  


• 
  

  In-still a high level customer service, operational excellence and work ethic in the Financial Operations Team.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor and develop processes and procedures within relevant work areas to produce guidance documents for University staff.

  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  

  A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, a Masters' degree in a relevant field, or MBA is preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Professional certification in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CMA, ACCA, CIMA, and SOCPA) is preferred.

  
  

Experience:

• 
  

  Minimum ‎10 years' experience in Accounting Operations and/or Treasury, with at least ‎4 years in a managerial role.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong leadership experience, higher education experience is desirable.
