Job Purpose:

KAUST in partnership with NEOM is executing the world's largest coral reef
conservation, enhancement, and restoration project. The project will involve
work across a ‎100-hectare reefscape near Shushah Island in the north-eastern
Red Sea as well as the construction and operation of the world's largest coral
nursery that will produce nearly a half million corals per year for coral reef
restoration and enhancement. KAUST seeks to develop an operation which will
utilize existing and new state-of-the-art coral restoration techniques,
combined with industrial-scale aquaculture practices to maximize efficiencies
and reduce labour demands through automation.

The Coral Nursery Facility Manager is a member of the project's senior
management team, and responsible for all aspects of the Operations and
Maintenance (O&M) of the Development and Primary Coral Nursery facilities.
This facility is the world's largest coral nursery and will utilize state-of-
the-art coral restoration techniques combined with industrial-scale
aquaculture practices to produce nearly a half million corals per year for
coral reef restoration and enhancement. These corals will primarily be used to
support the Shushah Island Coral Reefscape Project, and as such, the coral
nursery will also serve as the projects principal base of operations and will
include warehousing, a dive center, marine operations support, and a small
boat jetty. The management and operations of all of these facilities will be
in the purview of the Coral Nursery Facility Manager in close coordination
with the Coral Nursery Aquaculture Manager. This includes overseeing the
execution of O&M contracts with services providers, provide supervision and
direction regarding preventive and reactive maintenance, supervision of
general O&M of the facilities including HVAC, MEP, supervision and
administration of utilities supply and usage, horticulture, and pest control.

The position will be based at KAUST's Coral Nursery in NEOM when completed.

Major Accountabilities:

You will:

• 
  

  Develop and manage a team of KAUST and Service Provider personnel that will support Operations and Maintenance of the Development and Primary Coral Nursery facilities.

  In close coordination with KAUST FM - O&M Team, oversee the execution of contracts with service providers providing the O&M services for the facilities.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop plans for regular preventive maintenance of the facilities, utilities and equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Audit the work of service providers on a regular basis to ensure compliance with contract terms and deliverables.

  
  


• 
  

  Take corrective action as per the contract terms in case of discrepancies in deliverables by the service providers.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide supervision and guidance to staff with regards to day to day operational plans in coordination with the aquaculture team.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop plans for horticulture and pest control support required for the sites and execute contracts in coordination with KAUST FM.

  
  


• 
  

  Work with the NEOM FM team to ensure uninterrupted supply of utilities to the facilities.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor and streamline the usage of utilities at the facilities including usage of solar panels.

  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science required. A Masters of Science is highly desired.

Experience:

• 
  

  Minimum ‎10+ years of relevant experience in managing O&M for large facilities.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience in managing facilities with aquaculture systems, and managing teams in various locations is preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience of managing service provider contracts.

  
  


• 
  

  GCC experience is desirable.
