Field/Local operators - Power - Shuaibah

Job Summary
Please note that the contract will be for ‎2 years.
Monitor the Operation parameters of the system at local and coordinate with
the CCR Operator in regard to all related activities that affect operation.
Responsible for safe start up/shut down of the plant as per the Standard
Operating Procedures. Quick response during emergency operation of the plant.
Roles & Responsibilities
‎1 Comply with safety rules and regulations. Be familiar with the fire
equipment in his area. Follow the instructions of the Shift Supervisor/Shift
In Charge and CCR Operator.
‎2 Familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, basic control logics as
well as the emergency operation procedures and any other related documents.
‎3 Monitor all parameters at local and enter periodic readings on log sheets.
Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log
book.
‎4 Inspect the area and auxiliaries during the shift to make sure that all
equipment parameters are within limits. Report abnormalities to the CCR
Operator/ Shift Supervisor/Shift In Charge.
‎5 Perform equipment change over according to preset schedules. Raise work
requests or defect notes for faulty equipment.
‎6 Coordinate with CCR Operator/Shift Supervisor/Shift In Charge for isolating
and lining up the equipment and system before and after maintenance. Maintain
a tidy housekeeping in the work area and ensure clean up after maintenance
work.
‎7 Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
‎8 Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators.
‎9 Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls.
‎10 Report deviations in Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management
System.
‎11 Ensure proper waste disposal measures.
‎12 Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications
Educational
Desired : Diploma in Engineering OR High school certificate with minimum of ‎4
years working experience in the similar position in Utility or Desalination
plants
Preferred : Diploma in Engineering
Minimum Experience
(Type and duration)
Minimum

Diploma with ‎2 years working experience in Utility or Desalination plants
OR
High school certificate with minimum of ‎4 years working experience in the
similar position in Utility or Desalination plants
Preferable
Extensive experience as local operator in any of the following type:
Conventional, Combined cycle, Cogeneration, Water Desalination Plants like RO,
MSF, MED etc., and Renewable Energy type (Solar, Wind Mills etc.) plants.

‎2. Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste
‎3. Knowledge of Emission Monitoring
‎4. Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in
the plant
‎5. Knowledge of firefighting equipment
‎6. Knowledge of PPE and safety equipment
‎7. Knowledge of First aid measures
‎8. Should be well conversed with Power/Water plant operational activities.
‎9. Communication skills.
Desired certification / Job specific skill / Training
ISO9001, ‎14001, OHSAS ‎18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.
