Supervisor, Shift

‎1. JOB DETAILS:
Position Title: Supervisor, Crusher Operations
Reports to:
Department & Function: Crusher Operations, Superintendent
‎2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Functions as an interface between the operations and the management and
controls on and off-site areas, to ensure all production activities are
carried out safely, timely, and efficiently according to the Standard
Operating Procedures. Supports the Section Superintendent to ensure achieving
required operational targets.
‎3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Qualification:
* Technical Diploma or equivalent education. Preferably having strong background/ experience on Beneficiation & Crusher Plant Operations and troubleshooting in continuous running plants.
Experience:
* ‎10~‎15 years of operational experience in Mining Ore Beneficiation, Crusher Plant Operation, & troubleshooting experience. Preferably in a similar work environment or type of process.
‎4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Develop and implement daily safety inspections of the mine sites and quarry to spot potential problems and maintain compliance with Safety and good housekeeping standards.
* Monitor site daily.
* Check all equipment to ensure all safety aspects are covered.
* Frequent walkthrough to ensure safe work environment.
* Directs the activities of personnel assigned to his team.
* Attends Departmental Safety Meeting.
* Report operational issues to Superintendent to keep them updated about any relevant operational issues that affect production.
* Prepares contingency plans and plays a lead role in emergency situations according to the emergency plan.
* Permit to Work Compliances - Authorize permits to work specifying conditions to work safely and ensure compliance thereof.
* Operation Operability - Review and monitor all aspects of Operations and liaise closely with interfaces to ensure smooth operations and total reliability of the plant.
* Efficiency of Operations - Review the yields and Crusher output Quantity PSD to make improvements.
* Shutdown and Startup - Ensure all actions are taken for the safe shutdown and startup of the plant in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
Health, Safety and Environment
* Promote a culture of safety as reflected by zero accident and low incident rates.
* Supports compliance with all EHSS guidelines and regulations within specified norms and standards
* Coordinate & ensure that his team will comply with Safety Audits
* Supports for all emergency situations and coordinating closely with other personnel to undertake the lead role in handling the situation
Policies, Processes & Procedures
* Review all current procedures for meeting operational objectives and recommend changes in procedures for safe operations
Manpower Management
* Organize required manpower to ensure that the operations are run efficiently. Appraise staff performance to assess the effectiveness of available staff to meet current and future needs.
* Manpower requirements are accurately estimated and allocated to run the shift efficiently
* Staff appraisals are completed timely and comprehensively to provide staff with valid feedback
* Annual leave schedules should be submitted timeously.
* Identify training needs. Coordinate & Conduct training for staff in a specified area or for any changes to operating procedures, new technologies and safety precautions for the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
* Monitor and evaluate shift performance against the specific required standards set by the Management. Provide guidance and awareness in Safety and Plant Integrity.
Work Quality
* Works according to standard instructions and established procedures.
* Work progress is subject to spot-checked on a regular basis.
* Report operational issues to Management to keep them updated about any relevant operational issues that affect production. Update daily Management Report for compilation and reference.
