Role Purpose
To design and develop a partnership network in GCC countries with focus on
KSA, including effective relationship management, appropriate resourcing and
strategic expansion.
To identify and launch B2C off-site teaching centres through partnership.
To explore partnerships with multiple sectors, including schools, university
and public or private corporate sector.

Central to our strategy for ‎2025 is our ambition to increase our presence,
reach, and impact. We believe that there is significant opportunity to grow
our offer and we understand the importance of making our courses more
accessible by being closer to our target market.


Commercial Lead Partnerships will be responsible for rapidly expanding our
network of partners and driving the development of a hub and spoke operating
model.
The post-holder will develop and own the relationships with our network of
partners across the cluster and ensure that operational challenges that arise
when delivering offsite are mitigated and/or resolved in a timely manner.
Business development opportunities are not limited to partnerships with
schools, and we are looking for the post-holder to identify opportunities to
develop all our products and services to new markets.


Geopolitical/SBU/Function overview:
British Council operates teaching businesses across all GCC countries, with
KSA and Kuwait the largest markets.


Expansion through partnership is a key strategic ambition in KSA. Vision ‎2030
brings opportunity for growth and the partnership model is well developed in
other parts of the British Council global network. The current Gulf model of
large teaching centres located in prestigious city locations is somewhat
traditional. Customers now demand proximity as an essential for doing business
and British Council needs to be able to respond. Partner school and other
offsite opportunities are considered a key part of this business strategy, and
this will be achieved through effective relationship building across the
region.


Main Accountabilities:
Business Development:
* To ensure that opportunities for business growth are identified and exploited.
* To identify and implement processes and systems which support business growth, ensure business efficiency and enable a high-quality customer experience in all teaching locations.


Relationship Management
* To ensure effective and durable and mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders in partner premises, including School Heads, other relevant points of contact and parent representatives.


New Site Preparation & Launch
* To maintain a check-list of requirements for off-site premises.
* To draw up and implement a launch plan for each new off-site location.
* To liaise closely with local and regional marketing team to feed into the Action Plan and to contribute to marketing and promotional plans for off-site locations.


Partner Premises Management
* To ensure off-site delivery locations are adequately equipped and that corporate standard Health and Safety and Child Protection systems are in place
* To ensure that adequate provision is made to support teaching, including procurement of teaching materials and ICT equipment / systems.
* To ensure that off-site teaching environments are fit for purpose and promote a positive image of British Council.
* To ensure that all contractual agreements with off-site partners are up to date, include all necessary information and mitigate risk and liability to operations and British Council.


Leadership & management
* Plans and prioritises own work activities, which span across a range of different work streams, responding to changing and at times competing requirements to ensure effective delivery of responsibilities over a weekly/monthly time horizon.
* Tasks and coordinates others (e.g. third party suppliers, external partners and internal colleagues) to complete activities in accordance with agreed service delivery/ contractual requirements (e.g. cost schedules, time deadlines etc.).
* Pro-actively support the Product Leads for Adults and YL to achieve their objectives.
* Actively participate as an integral member of the cluster leadership team in regular cross functional meetings, including but not limited to business planning, forecasting, and monitoring.

* To actively support achievement of a high level of customer service to TC students and all other external stakeholders
* To ensure a high level of service to all internal stakeholders, including teachers, management team colleagues and HR support staff

About You (essential requirements for the role):
* English and Arabic (CEF Level C1)
* University degree
* ‎3 years of relevant work experience
* Previous accountability for achieving key performance indicators
* Strategic relationship management experience


Desirable requirements:
* Degree in a relevant field
* Experience of developing relationships and partnerships
* Experience of developing new teaching businesses
