Northrop Grumman's Armaments Systems Business Unit is looking for a Manager,
Programs Level ‎3 to work as an Expat in Saudi Arabia. This Expat assignment is
targeted to last ‎4 years.
This position will focus on leading and executing the co-production program
and leading the Program Integrated Product team (IPT). The selected candidate
will further support financial planning, program execution reporting, growth
and retention of team members, and risk and opportunity management.
Program Managers are responsible for leading all phases of the program life
cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and
completion (contract closeout). Primary responsibilities are the management of
scope, cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs or
subsystems and include, but are not limited to:
* Responsible for managing the daily execution of the Co-Production program and the responsibilities of the Program Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
* Provide overall leadership and direction to the IPT (to include coaching team members, resolving conflict, and initiating corrective actions, if necessary)
* Overseas travel to support customer reviews, meetings, and to monitor status of the in-country teams.
* Establishing and clearly communicating program objectives and performance to Ammo Operating Unit and Armament Systems Business Unit leadership
* Responsible for program cost control management and Cash decisions.
* Maintains proper program budget and schedule by utilizing Earned Value principles and tools
* Manages risks. Identifies potential issues and problems that could impact program performance and takes proactive action to resolve issues regarding cost and schedule. Establish and clearly communicate overall program objectives to IPTs
* Drive timely and clearly communicated decisions and recommendations to the program team as well as the management team
* Develops relationships with vendors and suppliers, in coordination with subcontracts management and quality Functions, to meet program objectives
Basic Qualifications:
* ‎12 years ' experience supporting U.S. Government and/or commercial contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries (We will consider Bachelor's degree and ‎8 years' experience, MS and ‎6 years of experience)
* ‎5 years leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team lead, or cost account manager
* Demonstrated ability to manage teams of individual contributors and managers, to include the performance of diverse personalities, manage conflict, and administer performance improvement plans as needed.
* Demonstrated ability to manage revenue, profit and cash performance of programs
* Strong formal and informal communication skills with all levels of internal and external management
* Defense Industry and DOD contract experience desired
* Ability to manage risk to reduce likelihood and severity of program impacts
* Ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance.
* Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
* Strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills
* Able to travel both international and domestically (‎25% travel requirement)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master 's degree or MBA
* Experience in product development projects and sustainment of legacy programs for complex aerospace or defense systems.
* International business experience desired, including contract negotiation and program execution
* Prior experience with large or medium caliber military armaments, or related systems
