Project Overview
Bechtel and its consortium partners are excited to begin hiring the completion
teams which will finalize the monumental Riyadh Metro Project (RMP), currently
estimated at ‎94% complete. The BACS consortium, which includes Almabani
General Contractors, Consolidated Contractors Company, and Siemens, is
responsible for the design, construction, train cars, and signaling as well as
electrification and integration of the new lines to the rest of the system.
Riyadh 's population of nearly ‎6 million is forecast to increase to ‎8 million
by ‎2030. The new metro system will meet the demands of the growing population
while reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality.

Position Summary
This role supports the Project Manager - Rail Systems Interface in the
coordination of the interfaces between Civil Works JV, Transit systems, other
rail consortia, and the end-user operator (as required based on assigned
area). The Interface Engineer ensures that the Interface Management processes
and procedures are complied with and robustly implemented throughout the
project lifecycle for the interfaces. The project is well progressed with
systems and stations nearing completion for the first milestone, so this role
provides technical coordination and oversight of activities, interprets the
contract consortium agreement and ICFs to determine scope, and chair interface
meetings to discuss and agree disputes or ambiguity in scope for work that is
often already or about to be underway; providing solutions in real-time so
that work can proceed.

Duties/ Responsibilities
* Technical oversight and management of all CWJV interfaces as part of the Interface Management process relevant to all activities so that they meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner whilst meeting time, cost and quality objectives.
* Responsible for ensuring the definition and management of all interfaces for their area of responsibility including technical, functional, internal and external to meet the Project Requirements
* Proactively engages with CWJV site teams and consortium partner counterparts to identify interface issues ahead of construction execution. These will be a wide range of items from construction/test coordination between the consortium partners, to technical issues and scope gaps/disputes that have not been previously resolved.
* Integrates and coordinates with the various Engineering and Systems Engineering disciplines.
* Attending and/or chairing interface meetings for area of scope.
* Assist in the consistency of Interface Control Documents and specifications etc., by the design teams and the validation of the Interface Control Forms.
* Monitor interface progress and closeout.
* Be a visible leader in safety; confirm all safety hazards have been identified and communicated to the work group with the LOTO review/ support the LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) and permitting teams where required.

Skills Requirements
* Candidates shall have minimum ‎5 years practical experience working on jobsites in a construction/technical capacity (such as a field engineer, interface engineer or similar), with ‎10 years of overall progressive experience in engineering, construction or T &C technical roles.
* Experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in design and construction projects across multidiscipline areas.
* Successful Interface Management track record on a major multidisciplinary rail project.
* Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to stations, depots and/or building systems, to support issue resolution
* Computer literate knowledge mandatory (comfortable user of Outlook, Excel, Word, powerpoint etc.)
* Must be able to read and understand electrical, instrument & mechanical drawings
* Rail project experience a plus but not essential
* MEP buildings services and railway project construction and integration/T&C experience a significant plus and differentiator (HVAC, fire & life safety, lifts, escalators, TVS).
* Skill in English oral and written communication.
* Must be able to obtain the right to work and remain in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Technical qualifications:
* A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or
* Equivalent progressive work experience.
