Job details

The Bus Network & Transport Planning Expert will ensure optimum deployment
of the Bus infrastructure network through network mapping, timetables and
roster analysis/approvals, KPI analysis and forward planning of capacity
requirements. He shall also assess transport demand, plan actions to adjust
predict transport capacity needs, recommend timetables adjustments and
coordinate as well as supervise the activities of the Bus Operator in terms of
ridership measurement and timetable optimization.
Role and Responsibilities
* Maintain the Bus Infrastructure Network master file.
* Coordinate change requests with stakeholders and manage adjustments in the master file.
* Instruct the Bus Operator for network and timetables temporary as well as permanent changes, and supervise and audit the full change management process by the Bus Operator and ensure all systems and sub-systems get the required updates for a coordinated deployment of the change.
* Develop and deploy travel forecast models on a macro scale.
* Assist the Employer and other PMCs transport planners in conducting, specifying and monitoring ridership across the public network.
* Assess transport demand, plan actions to adjust predict transport capacity needs and review the development of timetables.
* Supervise the activities of each of the Operator in terms of ridership measurement and timetable optimization.
* Perform close coordination with the Metro project to ensure a coordinated and optimum deployment of the city public transport network.
* Manage different stakeholder projects and investigation, to provide advice on research and analysis in support of key Employer 's goals and initiatives.
* Preparation quantitative and qualitative analysis of transport projects, evaluation plans and projections to improve transportation services, facilities and fiscal effectiveness for various alternatives by seeking assistance of the Metro and Bus Operators.
* Support development of capital programs including cost estimation and early project planning by seeking assistance of the Bus Operator.
* Prepare and evaluate travel simulation model outputs and geographic information system procedures by seeking assistance of the Metro and Bus Operators.
* Will support and report to the Senior Manager - Bus Services Delivery
* Coordinate with the other experts on the project.
Qualification and Education Requirements
* University Degree
Mandatory Experience
* ‎7 years ' experience in bus operations either in:
* Operational experience in Bus operating company, and/or
* Client organization managing a Bus operator, and/or
* Consultant team managing Bus operator.
* Good command of the GOAL software and associated input and output files such as VDVs
* Performed public transport analyses, including ridership forecast studies
* Experience dealing with timetables and materials related to successful and smooth operations of the transportation system
* Prior experience dealing with OEMs, manufacturers and independent consultants/accident investigative agencies will be a requisite.
