Project Controls Director

The opportunity
Project: Mace have been shortlisted to bid for one of several delivery partner
roles for a major project, this is a transformational project that will be
built in Riyadh, will be responsible for developing and hosting future
international events, such as stadium, elite sports centre & wellness, nature
& environment, parks & attractions, motion & mobility, and arts & culture,
this will also include Mid-scale hotel, multiplex cinema, residential, retail
& commercial, public car parking and public realm. The model is unique and
different to that previously experienced in the middle east region. This major
project is seeking high-calibre experienced candidates, who will lead
integrated teams that will manage each phase of the project through the
project lifecycles.
We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking project controls director to
join our established and growing team in KSA.
The role is ultimate accountable to the successful delivery of the programme.
The role will be providing a regional level reporting against programme. To
provide vision, leadership and strategic direction for the programme. Zone
project controls director (Uptown South Cliff) to sit across city uptown
district.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing precinct ‎1,2A, 2B, ‎3 - stadium, elite sports centre, indoor sports arena, E-Games arena, which includes up-scale hotel, gondola station (Structure), metro station (Structure), residential, retail & commercial, public car parking, town square & public realm etc.
* Preparing the overarching strategy for project controls across all key areas, acknowledging and developing client objectives and requirements.
* Integrating project controls with the client functional areas and wider group of stakeholders.
* Integrating buildability to shape the controls strategy to deliver programme value. Integrating with the client and other functions, and share best practice, transfer knowledge, and develop a legacy plan for future project delivery by the client and stakeholders.
* Managing the overall controls process aligned to programme deliverables and gateways to shape, inform and deliver the controls strategy to enable the client to make timely and effective decisions.
* Developing and leading the process for the aggregation of data at a project level through to programme level. Developing data capture and lead reporting consistency across the programme, including performance data to support successful delivery and baseline integrity, through robust change management.
* Taking ownership of specific Performance Management KPIs relevant to the role and ensure systems and processes are in place to monitor performance against them, and as necessary implement remedial actions to maintain/exceed KPI targets.
* Contributing to the ongoing development of the JV team and client organisation and the creation of opportunities for efficiency/value enhancement associated with the delivery of solutions within a multi-programme environment.
* Engaging in assessment of requirements and implementation of knowledge sharing and learning legacy to the client team.
About you
You have a relevant degree qualification, master's preferred. You will take
personal development seriously and be chartered or pursuing a similar level of
professional qualification.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead
strong, motivated teams. You must have experience of programme or project
management equating quality and value with individual client and be hungry to
