Transportation Lead

Position Summary
To manage and guarantee day-to-day campus transportation services whilst
solving eventual transportation requirements, preserving internal
transportation assets, supervising contractors' performance, thereby ensuring
overall customer satisfaction with transportation services in compliance with
relevant policies and regulations.

Major Responsibilities
Transportation Operations
* Coordinate day-to-day campus transportation operations in alignment with SST policy. __
* Manage and maintain fleet of transport for KAPSARC (e.g., pool vehicles, owned vehicles, etc.).
* Ensure adequate assignment of KAPSARC-owned vehicles according to SST guideline and eligibility.
* Coordinate and facilitate transportation services for unplanned activities (e.g., workshops, events, U-drive needs, etc.).
* Maintain historical data on all transportation services and movements.
* Handle transportation complaints, suggest improvements in the transportation processes or agreements and escalate matters when necessary to SST Director.
* Address and provide solutions to unplanned external factors (weather, strikes, etc.).
* Ensure adequate and timely route management for transportation services with attendants (e.g., school bus, mall, events, etc).
Transportation Supervision
* Ensure contracted transportation staff comply with internal regulations and expected behaviours in alignment with company values. Provide corrective guidelines and report incidents and sanctions on a regular basis.
* Ensure transportation drivers ´ absences are handled in a timely manner and that the replacement provided complies with policy.
* Ensure contracted transportation staff comply with documentation requirements in line with company policies and legal framework.
Contract Management
* Monitor carrier performance relative to on-time pickup and delivery (e.g., bus services, U-drive vehicles, etc.).
* Manage external carriers and contractors ' relations and ensure compliance with policy requirements. _
* _Analyze contractor costs and performance, ensuring expectations and conditions are met.
* Support Director in negotiating appropriate transport rates with contractors.
* Assist in sourcing new modes of transportation and carriers as per business needs.
Customer Experience
* Provide adequate customer support to ensure satisfaction with transportation services.
* Provide quality services KPI and contract SLA.
* Communicate regularly with customers about transportation status as a first point of contact for KAPSARC employees and address first-level daily escalations.
People Management
* Organize and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
* Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to the team to support their overall growth and development.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
* Provide inputs to the design and implementation of policies, systems, and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
* Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Reporting
* Analyze the information and prepare reports and dashboards in a timely and accurate manner to meet the requirements, policies, and quality standards.
Related Assignments
* Perform any other duties which the organization may require to be carried out.

Qualifications and Experience
Recommended Qualifications and Years of Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or any other related field. With ‎9-‎13 years of relevant experience or
* Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or any other related field. With ‎7-‎11 years of relevant experience
* Prior experience in transportation agreements, practices, carriers and suppliers.
* Saudi government driving license.
