The Position
Job Description:
Procurement Business Partner is a strategic procurement advisor to regional
DIA internal business stakeholders. They are responsible to develop
procurement strategies for direct materials and some indirect categories in
accordance with customers' needs. They need to establish key networks and act
as the common consultant between our internal business stakeholders and
global/regional or local suppliers/distributors to advise innovative business
models accelerating business targets enabling Roches ' 10 year ambitions.
The role provides key business partnering activities including gathering and
translating business needs, issues, and priorities for Direct/Indirect
Categories, specially working closely with our internal Diagnostics customers
responding to our end customers requests for Tenders.
Procurement Business Partner ensures that the customers' needs are well
translated to the direct material suppliers' and are fulfilled in compliance
to the latest market's trends in the Middle East region. By either leading or
supporting procurement delivery to successfully implement procurement
initiatives satisfying local demand.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leads the sourcing of high quality services and products in collaboration with business stakeholders. Maximising value and ensuring adherence to compliance requirements.
* Provide strategic consultancy through leveraging market knowledge, procurement expertise and excellent stakeholder management skills
* Support achievement of procurement performance KPIs including; savings, demand management and stakeholder satisfaction.
* Enhances strategic and critical third party relationships through robust SRM program, utilising supplier segmentation, market insights, innovation and data.
* Adoption of the Global/Region Procurement policies
* Proactively builds a strong local, regional and global network to ensure maximum operational efficiencies, best practice sharing and individual development
* Supports the Business Partner network in the development of the procurement function
* Driving and leading delivery of high value/business critical "source to contract" processes for specific categories. Collaborating with the business to co-design and develop innovative and best value opportunities.
* Reviews internal and external processes to drive further optimisation and development of
* procurement excellence.
* Identifies through analysis and assessment, sustainability and social value opportunities within the supply chain and proactively collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to implement.
* Ensure robust contracts are completed that include SLAs and KPI's to support effective supplier performance monitoring.
* Leads development and execution of category strategies for direct diagnostics categories. Identifying potential opportunities utilising a business partnering approach. Will also support elements of some indirect categories including managed laboratory services category areas.
* Proactively identify third party risks and appropriate mitigation strategies through robust supplier on boarding,evaluation and management.
* Develops and delivers effective and robust commercial strategies in collaboration with stakeholders. Able to advise stakeholders on alternative solutions utilising experience to ensure operational effectiveness
You bring the following skills, mindset, and behavior and experience:
* Deep knowledge of procurement spend management approaches, strong analytics, planning and prioritisation skills to engage all appropriate parties for decision making.
* Strong ability to network effectively and Middle East (ME) customer interfacing experience
* A good understanding on Ministry of Health initiatives and targets in the ME region
* Strong understanding on direct materials for diagnostics (water treatment systems, tubes, quality control, UPS …etc)
* Experience in leading CAPEX projects in ME region and strong understanding on Capex requirements at hospitals in ME
* Demonstrated/excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and influencing skills. Plus the ability to challenge/collaborate and partner with our business to influence demand and procurement direction for our business stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience of Category Management as well as understanding of the major spend categories and potential cost levers.
* Knowledge of source to pay tools (SAP SRM is an advantage) and general IT tools and systems knowledge.

* Strategic sparring partner and coach fostering VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst and Coach) leadership in line with the Roche leadership framework
* University degree in business or life sciences
* Business level fluency in English is essential and Arabic a plus.
* 7+ years Diagnostics or Pharma direct category procurement experience. Indirect category procurement experience is also valued.
Nice to have :
* Documented international strategic sourcing or cost reduction experience.
* Life Sciences experience
* MCIPS and Masters degree in Procurement/Supply Chain Management a plus.
Travel requirements: Availability to travel (air and ground both domestic and
internationally) for up to 15% of time for various meetings at Roche and
Supplier sites.
