Operation & Maintenance Manager (Rail)

Operations Responsibility: Require a close liaison with multidisciplinary
project design and build contractors. To ensure a seamless transition from
Build to Operation of the Metro project, ensuring that the component parts of
the metro are sufficiently developed to enable the introduction of rail
transit system (Risk identification and management), to include aspects
associated with Rolling stock, all systems integration, third party liaison,
Operational concepts and procedures, rules, regulations and working
instruction. Further responsibilities include identifying gaps in design and
build deliverables and determine suitable mitigations, work closely with the
station leads to develop operational concepts and ways of working that
facilitate the O&M entity in understanding both the system limitations and
capabilities. Ensure that suitable consideration has been afforded to all
aspects associated with training (1sttrance) of all system operators.
Maintenance Responsibility: Determine effective transition from D&B activities
for Signaling, Electrical, Communication, Track and Civils disciplines to
those of the O&M Operator. Assist in the development of the technical
database and ensure that all maintenance equipment is available and readied
for use. Provide advice on current 'World's best practice' for civil and rail
infrastructure maintenance activities. Further responsibilities include the
support of a consistent and standardized approach to corrective & preventative
maintenance activities including asset caretaking. Support the development of
maintenance technical documentation, notably; maintenance manuals,
troubleshooting guides, corrective & preventative action procedures, special
tools user manuals, storage and handling manuals, illustrative parts catalogue
and spares and tools holdings.
* A degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
* Has extensive experience working on $ multi-billion Railway Projects from Inception to completion.
* Ability to work across several rail engineering disciplines.
* Problem solving capabilities.
* Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities and create new and innovative approaches to work related issues.
* Strong Management and communication skills
* Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, DORS or ACONEX and strong user skill level within MS Office or Primavera
* Excellent numerical and communication skills
