Following the unveiling of Saudi Arabia's 'Vision 2030', which aims to
diversify its economy away from a dependence on oil, the government plans to
invest £2.32 trillion to transform the country into a global business and
cultural hub. As a result, there is a surging demand for project management
and consultancy services on major programmes in the region - and fantastic
mobility opportunities for our colleagues across Mace.

the country, but life in the vibrant city is anything but dry!

fascinating cultural fusion - one that traces a historic legacy while

Project manager, Scott Prentice moved from the UK to Saudi Arabia in June
2020. He is currently working on a portfolio of projects for Saudi
Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) in Riyadh. Here are his thoughts and living in
this exciting city:
"Riyadh is a great blend of modern and traditional culture. People are very
welcoming and warm. I moved here with my wife, and we had a baby in the middle
of the pandemic, but we easily adjusted to the pace of the city and started
feeling at home.
We have a huge variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping venues.
Whether you are single or raising a family, there are so many amazing
activities around Riyadh. You can go camping in the desert, play golf and
tennis, or take yoga classes.
The ex-pat community is strong and it's very easy to make friends and
socialise. Every weekend someone is hosting a dinner party or a barbecue.
Geographically speaking, the country is also very well connected. You can
easily hop on a flight to visit other interesting gulf countries like Bahrain,
UAE, or Jordan.
There are incredible opportunities for everyone to grow their careers in Saudi
Arabia. The scope and portfolio of projects will only increase in the coming
years. Having experienced this move myself through Mace, I would strongly
recommend that my colleagues do the same."
