Forklift Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Operate and maintain forklift truck to insure a safe and efficient operation. Reports any malfunction or abnormality to supervisor and/or maintenance department in a timely manner. Driver must report any unsafe conditions of his forklift or workplace to his supervisor.
* Operator shall be responsible for operating the Forklift in a safe manner at all times so as not to place the safety of any personnel/visitors/contractors and assets/equipment at risk. This includes during normal forklift truck operations such as loading or unloading of materials from trucks, discharge and storage of materials on to racks as well as general driving in the yard.
* Operator must keep awareness of all activities on the yard area and should notify supervisor of any unsafe practices by contractors, delivery drivers etc.
* Operator communicates and coordinates schedule with previous shift driver and his relief driver.
* Operator is responsible for delivery of proper material to production lines and for segregation of prime and discrepant material as directed via procedures or by supervisor.
* Operator is responsible for keeping production charge line loaded and discharge racks unloaded so as to maintain a steady flow of material through production line.
* Operator shall direct the activities of a utility employee, when assigned
* Operator is responsible for maintaining shop order segregation during yard movement. Driver shall utilize heat/grade color codes and stencil information in this task. This shall include the appropriate segregation of identified nonconforming parts.
* Employee will be required to perform all tasks and duties in harmony with other employees to create and maintain a safe working environment.
* Follow all the Company HSEMS, QMS, policies and procedures
* Perform other duties that maybe assigned by the Operations Manager or his designee
FACILITY SPECIFIC RESPON SIBLITIES:
* Read appropriate documentation to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed or shipped
* Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts
* Maintain the yard, warehouse and stores in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
* Responsible for operating the warehouse machinery in a safe manner and reporting any equipment maintenance or problems to your immediate supervisor
* Perform other work related task as required or as assigned
* To engage in any other activities requested by the Yard Supervisor
* Inform the Shift Supervisor or his designee of any disturbance or irregularities in the production flow occurs
* Perform all assignments, duties, and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so; correct and report all unsafe
conditions immediately
* To ensure that the Company's quality control and quality assurance procedures are adhered to all times
* Auditing all incoming shipment as per packing list
* Accurately capture and record necessary shipping, receiving and inventory data.
* Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity
* Follow all appropriate procedures for the accumulation, labeling, on-site transportation, storage, and inspection of materials designated as hazardous waste per
Environmental Control instructions
* Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations
* Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
* Employee must be able to comprehend written and spoken instructions in English.
* Employee must be able execute duties with minimal supervision.
* Legible English writing skills and basic numerical skills required.
* Previous Forklift Truck driving experience required
* Flexible, able to accept and respond to multi-task assignments quickly and readily
* Must have overall good work record
* Must be available to work Day and/or Night Shifts as required and/or assigned
* Demonstrated capability and willingness to work overtime as necessary
* Standard work week is ‎48 hours; possible overtime up to ‎60 hours per week

EXPERIENCE:
* ‎2 to ‎4 years of Yard and Warehouse Forklift experience desired.
* Valid Forklift License
* Must have high school diploma

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
* Good English Skills (Speaking, Writing and Reading)
* Basic Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
