At Nalco Water, an Ecolab company we are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Communications Manager to lead brand building and visibility activities in
Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of corporate or high-
level agency experience, with a strong focus on strategic alignment, market
understanding, brand storytelling, multi-channel communication, media
relations, crisis management, and measurement. Our chosen candidate will be
proactive, agile, and have the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
Fluency in English and Arabic is essential. Based on level of skill and
experience, the candidate could be taking on projects at India, Middle East
and Africa (IMEA) level.
The successful candidate will be strategic and operational as the situation
requires, possess strong written and spoken English skills and be adaptive to
change. S/he will be experienced having worked or had exposure to global /
international matrix organizations and able to seamlessly interface with
senior leadership and internal stakeholders across markets, divisions and
functions.
This role reports directly to the IMEA Head of Corporate Communications and
functionally to the general manager and country leader Saudi Arabia.
Job Description
* Develop and implement communication strategies that align with the organization's business strategy and objectives in Saudi Arabia.
* Manage both internal and external communication activities, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with the organization's values and goals with a high level of attention to detail and brand alignment.
* Possess (and further gain) a deep understanding of the Saudi Arabian market, including cultural nuances, local dynamics, and industry trends, to tailor messaging, content, and campaigns that resonate with the target audience and effectively position our brand.
* Craft compelling brand narratives that engage and resonate with the target audience, creating an emotional connection, building brand loyalty, and enhancing our brand's reputation and visibility.
* Utilize a multi-channel approach, leveraging both traditional and digital communication channels, to reach and engage with the target audience effectively. This includes leveraging social media, online platforms, PR initiatives, events, and other relevant channels to maximize brand exposure and engagement.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers in Saudi Arabia, enhancing our brand's visibility through media coverage and amplification of brand messages.
* Be prepared to effectively manage and respond to potential crises or issues that may arise, demonstrating proactive identification of risks, developing crisis communication plans, and swiftly addressing challenges to protect and enhance our brand's reputation.
* Establish clear metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of communication efforts, regularly monitoring and analyzing data to assess campaign success, adjust strategies as needed, and demonstrate the value and ROI of communication initiatives.
* Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams, departments, and external partners to ensure alignment and integration of communication activities, serving as a business partner and effectively managing stakeholders.
* Drive internal communication initiatives to foster employee engagement, alignment, and a positive organizational culture.
* Continuously learn and adapt to industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving communication practices, staying informed about best practices and leveraging new tools and platforms to enhance communication strategies.
* Demonstrate agility and resilience in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, quickly responding to market shifts, adjusting strategies, and overcoming challenges to drive successful communication outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
* MBA or bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
* 5-8 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related roles, preferably in a matrix global organization
* Exceptional language skills (written and verbal) in English and Arabic
* Excellent digital and social media savviness, with experience in leveraging online platforms, social media channels, and emerging technologies to engage and reach target audiences effectively.
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Saudi Arabian market, including cultural nuances, local dynamics, and industry trends. The individual has to provide council to senior management in regard to communication and media relations in Saudi as required.
* Proven storytelling skills, with a strong understanding of strategic messaging and content curation
* Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and project management skills.
* Team player - flexible and collaborative with a positive, can-do attitude
* Able to handle confidential material with care and discretion.
* Experience with developing video content as well as coordinating and facilitating video shoots.
* Advanced skills in PPT and Word
* Experience with Photoshop and or Illustrator is a plus.
* Experience producing content for various digital medial platforms is a plus (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Podcasts, etc.)
* Working knowledge of feedback channels, quantitative metrics, and other methods of program evaluation
