Job Purpose
The main purpose of the Cost Accountant job is to validate, Allocate and
analyze production costs.
Principal Accountabilities
* Collect cost information and maintain database for cost allocation.
* Cost allocation.
* Assisting Senior Cost Accountant in reviewing standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
* Assisting Senior Cost Accountant in preparing (monthly, quarterly, and annual) cost forecasts.
* Assisting in month - end and year - end closing.
* Monitoring unit cost variance.
* Implementing cost standards for materials, labour, and overheads.
* Assisting Senior Cost Accountant in preparing cost of goods sold and production reports.
* Reconciling raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods stock.
* Assist the Senior Cost Account in preparing Cost analysis reports.
* Communicate with operations to identify variance and the reason for variances.
* Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his/her direct manager.
