Structural Fabricator

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Read drawings and understand fabrication process and sequence.
* Cutting & weld bevel edge preparation of steel plates, beams, and piping using cutting torches and other equipment.
* Fit-up /assembly of mast and substructure & accessories, pressure vessels and piping.
* Withdraw suitable welding consumables from stores for tack welding. Should be able to weld using SMAW and MIG welding.
* Safe handling of cutting/welding gases and tools/grinders.
* Grinding and cleaning/Dress up of the work pieces & welds
* Capable to use various measuring tools like Tapes, fabrication tools and weld gauges etc.
* Shall have experience with handling overhead cranes, forklifts etc.
* Clean workplace and safe handling of materials.
* Maintain safety regulations and obey company safety rules.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Solid blueprint interpretation skills and well versed with engineering drawings of mast and substructure, mud systems, pressure vessels, piping, process & structural.
* Shall have sound technical knowledge in materials, fabrication processes, NDE inspection processes and general construction activities.
* Should be able to use manual cutting torch for cutting steel plates, pipes and structural steel.
* Must have basic knowledge of English speaking and writing.
* Having sound knowledge of fabrication processes and principles (Welding, cutting, pressing, gas/plasma cutting works, fit up work etc.).
* Expertise knowledge in tools required for welding and gouging.
* Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments.
Qualification, knowledge and experience:
* Minimum ‎7 years' experience of welding in Oil and Gas projects.
* Certificate/cards of welder performance qualification of various welding processes like GTAW, SMAW & FCAW Welding would be added advantage.
* ITI, Mechanical diploma/Technical training certificates in Welding.
