Machine shop manager

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Generate, direct, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production and maintenance schedules. Review scheduled shop work orders, earned hours, personal time, to ensure all customer orders / production schedules are met and there are no job order variances (JOV).
* Quote setup and run times for machine shop products. Will be involved in the creation and maintenance of machine shop routers to ensure quality and product costing accuracy.
* Work with Manufacturing Engineering to solve problems with part production or quality regarding tooling, programs, or equipment.
* Manage and coordinate the activities of machine shop personnel including training, employee development, performance evaluation, discipline actions, hiring decisions, vacation schedules, shift schedules, and time management on work orders.
* Promoting a safety culture and enforcing all ARM HSE policies and procedures, also local government regulations as applicable. Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
* Ensure all requirements for location quality certifications are meet and adhered to such as ISO, API, and other necessary standards, etc.
* In collaboration with Quality and/or Engineering, investigate all customers reject and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent the re-occurrence for machine shop. Analyze and address product nonconformities (scrap and rework) to improve the cost of quality for the machine shop.
* Communicate verbally and in writing to ensure all employees are properly informed about policies, procedures, location performance, programs, work schedules, etc.
* Drive continuous improvement in machine shop in areas of Safety, Quality, LEAN, Delivery, Lead-Time Reduction, and Cost to enhance performance. Ability to review drawings, process routers, or procedures to identify and drive opportunities for quality and cost improvements.
* Responsible for managing departmental budget.
* All other duties as assigned.
Function/ Purpose:

Provide quality management system information to support all Arabian Rig
Manufacturing departments.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* In-depth knowledge of machining processes, metals via experience working in a machine (minimum of ‎10 years).
* Experience with raw materials, machining processes, forgings and castings, and secondary operations.
* Experience with Microsoft Office and other software.

Qualification, knowledge and experience:
* High School Diploma
* Qualification - Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Equivalnet)
* Experience required - minimum ‎15 years with at least 5years in a similar role with CNC machine shop.
Oil and Gas Equipment Manufacturing experience preferred.
* Strong background in CNC Programming and troubleshooting.
* Has firm understanding of GD&T concept, CAD and CAM software.
