Head of HR, Commercial Banking & Global Banking MENAT

Human Resources leads the implementation of the Group's people strategy in
line with business objectives. It facilitates talent management, succession
planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that
support employee performance management, reward, learning and development,
resourcing and engagement.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Human Resources
team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve
divisional business targets.
Responsible for the development and execution of the people plan for the CMB
and GBM business in MENAT, while directly owning the HR relationship with the
respective business heads and their management teams.
As Head of HR CMB & GBM, the role holder will provide strategic HR leadership
to the CMB and GB and MSS Excos __ and other Senior Business Leaders to
create, design and deliver effective people plans aligned to the CMB and GBM
People Priorities, drive and own the Talent management and D&I agenda in
addition to providing Coaching and Development for relevant Business Leaders.
The role holder will report jointly to the Global Head of HR, CMB and Regional
Head of HR, Europe & MENAT; the individual must demonstrate strong leadership
and strategic direction with role-model behaviours, developing and deploying
initiatives that create business value.
In this role, you will:
Impact on the Business
* Leads the development of a commercial and relevant people plan in line with Global CMB and GBM's strategy and MENAT's growth and change agenda and delivers this plan through collaboration with the relevant Centres of Excellence, market HR teams and business leads.
* Provides regional input to Global CMB and GBM HR strategy, product design, and deployment plans for the region. Develop and deploy initiatives that create business value through collaboration with CoEs and HR Consultants.
* Drives and owns the Talent management agenda. Coaching and Development for business leaders.
* Utilizing analytics and lead discussions to inform workforce strategy development.
* Demonstrate leadership and role-model behaviours for the function and business.


Customers / Stakeholders
* Have the skill to quickly establish rapport and credibility with the business. They will have a proactive operating style with the energy, passion and drive to enable delivery of a complex and challenging agenda.
* Provides relationship management and advice to the ExCos and senior executives on strategic and operational human capital issues, by leading the alignment of the People Strategy to the Business Strategy and clearly articulating the value to the business.
* Proactively interacts and collaborates with the wider HR team to understand overarching issues, to leverage ideas and ensure consistent services and processes providing a 'consistent' employee experience.


Leadership & Teamwork
* Sets expectations, shares best practice, coaches and develops HRBPs and HR Consultants as they are deploying initiatives into the Business.
* Leads and encourages constructive teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.
* Drive to achieve High Performing collaborative leadership teams including development of collective leadership.
* Reflect on own mind set and take ownership of role in delivering the HR function's value proposition.
* Challenge business leaders on their thought processes, encourage consideration of different perspectives, encourage empathy to help leaders understand the behaviours of others.


Operational Effectiveness & Control
* Owns the people risk stewardship for CMB & GBM MENAT as part of the MENAT CMB & GBM RMM. Identifies and solutions in partnership with the business emerging or top risk management themes including relevant conduct and retention metrics.
* Supports the effective and efficient deployment of HR products and services into the business, delivering market standards and enabling the achievement of business plans.
* Stewards the regional Learning cost and FTE AOP alignment in association with Finance and monitors performance through governance.
Requirements
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
* Previous experience in a HRBP role level in a large scale multi-national and commercial environment.
* Ability to build relationships at all levels, strong communications skills and ability to navigate and influence across the organizational matrix, in particular where there may be conflicting priorities
* Ability to develop and deliver people transformation in a large scale and complex business with significant offshore presence across multiple sites and geographies
* Ability to deliver a proactive HR service and implementing a people strategy in line with business objectives.
* Skilled in managing organizational change and the ability to translate complexity and ambiguity into impactful delivery.
* Demonstrates positive and collaborative values and behaviors ensuring they are reflected across all people delivery touch points and demonstrated by the leadership of the function(s).
* Demonstrates strategic focus, operating strategically, and driving delivery aligned to strategy.
* Ability to influence and lead teams, even if not directly reporting to them, motivate, coach, mentor and develop capability
* A clear understanding of all aspects of HR and Talent Management.
* Strong coaching, facilitation and consultancy skills including design thinking and consultative frameworks.
* Ability to translate data (workforce analytics) into a clear and compelling story, demonstrating high levels of analytical skills.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills, able to effective message key initiatives and tailor approach dependent on target audience.
