Your Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a profitable & viable Card business strategy through on going and dynamic focus on all aspects of the card business including determination of target market, product strategy, credit risk strategy, marketing and sales initiatives, and all aspects of product delivery.
* Ensure the profitability of the Card business through development and close monitoring of budgets and ensuring that both revenues and costs are achieved in accordance with business plans.
* Analyze and interpret business MIS and financial indicators relating to all aspects of the Card business in order to guide and correct variances in accordance with business plans.
* Maximize card portfolio dynamics through increased cardholder acquisition/usage, whilst at the same time ensuring portfolio health through prudent management of credit risk within acceptable levels - Challenge and question processes and procedures and proactively implement suggestions from others for improvements in procedures to develop the business.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business areas/ clients for obtaining information and identifying current and future business, training and change requirements.
* Oversee the development and maintenance of new and existing relationships with other departments and customers to support the achievement of business objectives.
* Direct the process of effective department performance, overseeing the appraisal, recruitment, development and training of team members to ensure their individual and collective performance meets or exceeds the required standard.
* Foster and promote a culture of team working within the division and across other departments, leading by example and acting as a positive role model.
* Proactively seek to develop own skills, own skills, knowledge and competence in order to increase the level of personal contribution / performance.
* Develop and maintain the department Business Continuity Plan to ensure it is up to date and all staff are aware of their responsibilities under the plan in the event of an incident or disruption
Your Qualifications
* University Degree or equivalent or Master's Degree in related area - Relevant professional and / or technical qualification.
* Membership of Professional body
* Minimum 10-15 years' experience within banking / relevant areas with at least 10 years a managerial level and at least 5 years at senior management level.
* Experience of developing policies, procedures and strategies.
