Duties



  • Ensures contractor compliance with all requirements related to the design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization of a variety of items for contractor and customer activities throughout the world.

  • Applies a wide range of methods, principles, and practices directly related to the quality control/quality assurance fields such as statistical analysis, control/sampling, quality data analysis and evaluation to determine contractor compliance.

  • Incorporates a thorough and detailed QA knowledge in applying various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and ensuring corrective action on complex quality problems.

  • Independently perform audits/surveillance of contractor's processes to ensure customer and contractual requirements are met.

  • Chief of Mission Physical: Department of State requires a thorough medical examination and various vaccinations. Family members must also pass a medical examination (the cost for family members is not covered by the Agency).

  • Various vaccinations such as, but not limited to: Anthrax, Chickenpox, Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Influenza, M-M-R, Pneumococcal, Polio, Rabies, Tdap, and Typhoid may be required.

  • Foreign Affairs Counter Threat (FACT) Training is a mandatory Department of State ‎5 day training course for employees who travel to certain overseas locations. Once completed the certification is valid for ‎5 years.

  • Passport/Visa for selectee and family members may be required.

  • Immunizations for selectee and family members may be required.

  • Tour Length: ‎12 Months Unaccompanied/‎24 Months Accompanied


Qualifications


To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft), your resume and
supporting documentation must support:


Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you
with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the
position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To
qualify at the GS-‎12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized
experience equivalent to the GS-‎11 level or equivalent under other pay systems
in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet
eligibility requirements including, minimum qualifications, and any other
regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.
Creditable specialized experience includes:
* Applying the full range of principles, concepts, and methodologies related to the quality assurance functional programs.
* Establishing process measurement points and statistical techniques/methods to measure, analyze, and continuously improve processes.
* Applying process-related practices, methods, and techniques such as statistical analysis; control and sampling; process proofing; and quality data analysis, in order to evaluate Government and contractor data and determine contractor compliance with the many aspects of quality control.
* Performing investigations of defective material for cause and corrective action and initiate process improvements with the contractor as needed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
* US citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Ordinarily Resident is defined as a US citizen who is locally resident; and, has legal, permanent resident status within the host country; and, is subject to host country employment and tax laws.
