Job Description:
Envistacom is looking for a talented Service Desk Support Specialist II to
support our RESPONSIVE STRATEGIC SOURCING FOR SERVICES (RS3) Integrated
Network Operations Center (INOC) Contract, maintaining 24/7 Network Operations
capability. The candidate will be responsible for the configuration,
operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and resolution of customer technical
problems over the phone, via e-mail, on-site or using remote connectivity.
Candidate will work as part of a team and must display a rigorous work ethic
and possess the initiative and independent thinking to thrive in a dynamic
environment. This position requires traveling as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for providing Tier I support to end-users for PC server, mainframe applications, and hardware.
* May interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem.
* Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
* Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.
* Maintain currency and highest level of technical skill in field of expertise.
* Perform IP addressing and variable length sub-net masking techniques
* Support the initial configuration and functional verification of terminal operations (both on the SATCOM and Baseband Networks)
* Support the creation and validation of both modem boot files and network router and switch configurations necessary to interface to the existing Government network through close coordination and interface with existing network operations personnel.
* Support network monitoring and outage restorations.
* Support FSR troubleshooting and terminal repair actions.
* Support new requirements definition and implementation of -interconnection to the existing government network.
* Serve as the Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) subject matter expert, with SATCOM operations knowledge and basic baseband knowledge.
* Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
* A BS/BA degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or an AA and 7+ years of relevant experience.
* Active DoD Secret Clearance.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills in various SATCOM terminals and complex inter-networking environments.
* Understand Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and its suite of protocols.
* Know baseband and RF technologies.
* Know Cisco router configuration and operation (or equivalent).
* Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a comprehensive background check.
