Manager, SATC Technology

Job Description and Qualifications
The Technology team based at the Saudi Arabia Technology Centre (SATC) in the
Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV) campus is part of Air Products' Global Technology
organization. The SATC Technology team leads and supports both regional and
global technology initiatives. The team has expertise in hydrogen production
processes, such as gasification and steam-methane reforming, in water
treatment, in adsorption and membrane separation technologies, in materials
engineering, and in computational technology.

We are looking for a highly motivated and versatile person with strong
technical skills to lead the SATC Technology team. The successful candidate
will report to the Director, Process Gases Technology and also have a
reporting relationship to the General Manager, GEMTE Middle East.
Principal Responsibilities
* Champion safety and provide oversight in both office and lab environments.
* Ensure a safe work place and compliance with safety practices
* Ensure timely completion of Basic Safety Process requirements, including proper reporting of incidents
* Manage a team of approximately ‎10-‎14 engineers, researchers, and technicians while growing the capabilities of the team and its members.
* Set team and team member objectives and build commitment among team members
* Partner with team members to create development plans and ensure progress against these plans
* Ensure progress on research initiatives and other project activities
* Promote collaboration among team members
* Champion technical excellence in the team 's work activities and results
* Ensure a healthy pipeline of ideas and innovation opportunities for team members to pursue
* Manage talent acquisition, talent development, talent management activities
* Manage administrative activities, including time charging, leave requests, expense reports
* Manage spending against budget, including proper approval of purchases and operating expenses
* Collaborate with other Global Technology teams.
* Partner with other Global Technology managers when identifying and executing research initiatives, as well as when developing team member objectives and development plans
* Ensure healthy communication and alignment with other teams
* Foster relationships with Saudi Arabia university and industry partners, including other DTV companies.
* Identify and pursue opportunities that mutually benefit Air Products and our partners
* Support Air Products ' JV partners in the region, including JIGPC, APQudra and NGHC.
* Promptly address requests for support
* Facilitate team members' success by ensuring they have the resources they need (people resources, time, charge numbers, training, etc.)
* Assist in resolving issues when necessary
* Communicate or escalate issues in a timely manner
* Align with and champion both Global Technology and GEMTE Middle East leadership goals.
* Communicate regularly and escalate issues, as necessary
* Support strategic goals and implementation plans

Required Skills and Experience
* The following skills and experiences are required:
* A safety-first attitude
* A minimum of a Bachelor 's degree in a science or engineering field
* Experience with industrial gas processes
* Experience in one or more of these areas: hydrogen production processes (such as gasification and steam-methane reforming) water treatment, adsorption or membrane separation technologies, materials engineering, computational technology
* Experience working in a research, laboratory, or plant environment
* Experience supervising engineers/researchers/technicians
* A track record of driving progress in self and in others to meet objectives
* A demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with colleagues across organizations, with external partners, with customers, and others with diverse backgrounds
* Fluency in written and spoken English for effective interaction with global colleagues
