Summary
We’re looking for a dynamic Swimming Teacher, who will be responsible for all
the teaching or coaching within the swimming program, which fall in line with
the ISG core values.
Job Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
* Work closely with the Aquatic Director and other swim teachers/coaches within the department
* Plan and deliver the technical and tactical teaching and coaching program to your
* Be fully responsible for the safety and welfare of all swimmers under your care
* Liaise with the Aquatics Director and swim teachers/coaches to ensure that the needs of all swimmers are catered for
* Compile performance reviews and deliver feedback to swimmers and parents both formally and informally
* Keep the Aquatics Director fully informed on all matters relating to swimmers in your groups
* Communicate session changes and events with school communities
* Coach and manage respective groups during competitions and events
* Attend staff meetings and competitions as required
* Support and promote the swimming program, both curricular and extra curricular
* Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job as directed by the Aquatics Director or Athletic Director
* Incorporate ISG’s core values into normal working practice
* Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students
* Act in accordance, at all times, within the school’s policies and procedures
Qualifications and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
* ASA Level ‎2 or equivalent in teaching aquatics
* First Aid Certificate
* Safeguarding Children Certificate
* Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure
* ASA Level ‎2 or equivalent for coaching swimming
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience
* Experience of teaching and/or coaching swimmers aged between ‎3 - ‎18 Years old
* Understanding of how to build relationships and communicate effectively with staff, participants, teachers, and parents/guardians
* Experience of teaching and/or coaching independently with internal and external groups
* Experience of working in and liaising with schools and teachers
* Experience of delivering Sports Coaching Holiday Camps and Clinics
* Ability to be able to deliver fun, structured teaching or coaching sessions of a high quality and provide a fun and engaging learning environment for all
* Experience in coaching both male and female swimmers
* Competent with IT including all basic office programs, experience of working with online databases
Skills**
* Ability to plan, deliver, develop, and monitor teaching and coaching sessions to a high standard
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
* High levels of customer service; promptly respond to queries, ensure promises are kept and manage expectations
* Excellent command over written and spoken English.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Organised, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* Good understanding of sports equity issues
* Good knowledge of competitive sport pathways including talent identification and Academy organisation
* Good understanding of the Swimming landscape in Saudi Arabia
