The Transportation Driver (Cargo) is responsible for the safe and timely
transportation of goods and cargo to designated destinations. This role
involves loading, unloading, and ensuring that cargo is securely transported
while adhering to traffic regulations and safety guidelines. Key
Responsibilities: Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring
proper securing and organization within the vehicle. Safe Driving: Operate
cargo vehicles responsibly, following traffic laws and maintaining a strong
focus on safety. Delivery Routes: Navigate routes efficiently, using GPS or
maps to reach destinations within scheduled time frames. Timely Deliveries:
Ensure on-time deliveries, adhering to delivery schedules and customer
requirements. Cargo Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cargo loaded,
transported, and delivered, including required documentation. Vehicle
Maintenance: Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report any maintenance
issues, and ensure vehicles are in optimal condition. Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety guidelines for loading, securing, and transporting cargo.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, colleagues,
and customers to provide updates and address inquiries. Problem-Solving:
Address delivery challenges, traffic delays, and other issues while ensuring
cargo safety. Regulatory Adherence: Follow regulations related to transporting
hazardous materials or special cargo, if applicable. Qualifications and
Skills: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid commercial driver's license
(CDL) for cargo transportation. Proven experience as a cargo driver or in a
related role. Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
Physical stamina for loading and unloading cargo.
