Lean Manager

Role & Responsibilities
* Adopt and champion the AstraZeneca approach to Lean encompassed within the AstraZeneca Supply System
* Develop their knowledge of the organisation in order to act as an effective partner for their customers
* Possess the ability to apply AstraZeneca Supply System appropriately within the organisation.
* The AstraZeneca Supply System provides a common framework for Lean for all of AZ, encompassing Lean Leadership and Technical tools. The AstraZeneca Supply System is governed by the AZ Lean CoE and executed by the deployed Lean roles.
* Job holders adopt the AstraZeneca Supply System and leverage their previous experience and expertise to improve the system from within, rather than operate autonomously
* Job holders must demonstrate the confidence and competence to correctly gauge the current state of capability and provide inspiration, guidance, challenge and support that provides the appropriate stretch to the organization.
Skills and Capabilities
* Support Functional leadership team colleagues to develop the appropriate Lean strategy and annual Lean plan
* Support Functional leadership team colleagues to implement effective strategy deployment, metrics ad PDCA to ensure progress and benefit delivery
* Hold colleagues to account to deliver agreed Lean strategy & annual plan
* Provide coaching and deliver/organises Lean training aligned to ‎70-‎20-‎10 to colleagues on Functional Leadership teams
* The most senior 'Lean' practitioner within the function.
* A champion/conscience/advocate for Lean across the Function
* Lean strategy and annual Lean plan must deliver required uplift in Lean maturity and business value
* Engage to entire function in the Lean strategy and annual Lean plan
* Track Lean maturity uplift and benefit delivery and agree actions to mitigate slippage as appropriate
* Functional Lean strategy supports E2E business success
* Function Leadership team members achieve and sustain prescribed minimum standard competence for Lean
* A senior Champion and support to all deployed Lean resources.
* The conscience of Lean at functional level ensuring Lean embedded in all that we do
Essential Requirements
* Bachelors in pharmacy
* Significant knowledge in applying Lean approaches.
* Working knowledge of statistical process control concepts, data analysis, diagnostic tools and techniques.
* Demonstrated capability to lead process improvement efforts.
* Working knowledge of the DMAIC process.
* Working knowledge of Lean Tools such as VSM, Kaizen, etc.
* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
* Effective internal consulting skills with all levels of management.
Desirable Requirements
* SixSigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification
* Production / supply chain roles within the pharmaceutical industry
* Proven ability to improve pharmaceutical processes through the application of variety of continuous improvement approaches
* Demonstrated experience in facilitating teams and groups in lean, sixsigma and process improvements.
* Demonstrated experience in leading or facilitating change initiatives
* Expertise in the application of analytical problem-solving methodology.
* Demonstrated proficiency in MiniTab, SPCL or other statistical analysis software, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
