Department: College of Business and Economics
Reports to: President
Scope and Purpose
The American University of Kuwait is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to
serve as the Dean of the College of Business. The successful candidate will be
a full professor with a strong academic and administrative background in the
field of business administration. The Dean will play a pivotal role in
advancing the College's mission, fostering academic excellence, and ensuring
the continued growth and success of our programs.
Responsibilities
* Providing visionary leadership to advance the College's academic programs and research initiatives that align with current and future market needs and innovation initiatives (regionally and globally).
* Fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
* Promoting a diverse and inclusive learning environment that supports the success of all students and faculty.
* Ensuring compliance with AACSB accreditation standards and actively working to maintain and enhance accreditation.
* Collaborating with faculty and staff to develop and implement strategic plans for the College.
* Managing the College's budget and resources effectively to achieve its goals.
* Building and maintaining relationships with industry partners, alumni, and other stakeholders.
* Representing the College within the institution and to external constituencies.

Qualifications

The candidate for the position of Dean of the College of Business must
possess the following qualifications :
* A Ph.D. in Business Administration from an accredited institution.
* A continuous and up-to-date proven record of excellence in teaching, research, and publication in the field of business.
* A minimum of ‎7 years of uninterrupted academic senior administrative experience (Associate Dean and above) of which a minimum of ‎5 years in a college of business.
* Hands-on experience with AACSB accreditation processes and a commitment to maintaining and enhancing accreditation standards.
* Strong strategic planning skills with a track record of successful implementation.
* A strong background and philosophy aligned with liberal arts education principles.
* A commitment to student-centered education and a strong dedication to the success of our diverse student body.
* An established reputation in the academic community and a history of collaborative leadership.
