Life Skills Training Officer is a primary level field based position under the
direct supervision of Field Manager. S/He will be responsible for day to day
implementation, reporting and documentation of life skills training activities
in Dohuk, Diyala and Mosul with technical support from FSL Coordinator. The
position holdre will work closely with MEAL, Child Protection, Education and
Supply Chain team.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Preparation of detail implementation plan for life skills trainings
component of project with monthly and weekly breakdown of activities.
Integration with Education and CP team for implementation planning and
execution.
• Monitor progress against program work plan; promptly identifying any current
or potential delays. Weekly reporting on progress
• Identification of potential youth group along with education team for life
skills training around five domains of Save the Children Life Skills for
Success Common Approach.
• Participate in designing and leading the collection and analysis of data on
relevant trainings and any follow up with participants.
• Deliver life skills components of trainings as necessary, based on direction
and curriculum developed/ adopted by Save the Children.
• Working closely with youth identified facilitators and act as a focal person
for organizing training to youth beneficiaries.
• Regular field visits, meeting with youth beneficiaries and follow up to
ensure that program activities are in line with SOPs and donor compliances.
• Establish and maintain contact and productive working relationships with
community representatives, local and international organizations,
beneficiaries and employers as related to life skill development.
• Coordinate with MEAL team for parallel monitoring of activities as well as
post training evaluation.
• Keep record of all required documents related to Life Skills training
program, beneficiary selection, training and post training evaluation.
• Work collaboratively with SCI’s logistics and finance staff as required to
process Purchase Requests (PR) for life skills training component.
General:

Essential
• Bachlors degree in economics, management sciences or livelihoods related
fields.
• At least two years proven experience of youth livelihoods program
implementation.
• Implementation and organizing life skills training is a plus.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Experience and understanding of gender sensitive programing.
• Good understanding of community engagement and social cohesion.
• Good understanding of humanitarian principles and don no harm.
• Understanding and commitment to Save the Children aims, values, and
principles
Desirable
• Works well in and promotes teamwork, strong community outreach skills,
detail oriented, honest, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
